Good day nl programmers

I will like to be a programmer also though I study mech ENGR in sch and am just through with my ND program..... I want to learn programming because I have passion for it...so as a starter,beginner or fresher what are the things or requirements I need to start programming..... And also am planning to go for offline training but any idea of how much will be collected from me to learn this programming.

Someone shud answer me na....

First decide on the type of programmer you want to be, I.e desktop or web programmer, this is the first thing you should do.If you decide to go into desktop programming, I recommend you start off with one of these languages: C,C++,java or c#. (My preference is on java).
However, if web programming catches your fantasy, you can start off with php,Python or aspx.

first you have to know the problem you want to solve with it or the kind of application you want to build from there you pick best language for the job. for example you want to build game application and you learn php. php is not the best fit for game application, the best are C++ and C#. php is best fit for web application. when learning programming try to understand the basic core like variable,data type, control structures, functions, operators, classes, Exception,namespace . you can learn it on your own, as a beginner start with videos later you can move to books. YouTube is a great source. my question is which area you want to specialize , so I can recommend videos for you.
