I earn well over 150k monthly and once I exceed N700 on food alone, I start feeling like am being too extravagant.

I will advise you save first then make budget on the outstanding. That way, you are able to determine your expenses based on the balance after savings.

Nairaland is the only place a guy soaking garri 365 days will be telling another trying to save up he/she is cheap.

It is quite unfortunate that the big boyish craze has dug so dip in the minds of so many that they fail to realise that they are poor. There are so many people who makes less than 45k in a month who would rather talk down on him than to think for themselves and realise they have been frivolously spending.
