CAF snub Nigerian refs
CAF continued the tradition of overlooking Nigerian referees for major tournaments by failing to list a single one as centre referee for this month's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
Only one Nigerian was listed, as an assistant referee, while there were three South Africans in total; two referees and one assistant referee.
Three officials were picked from Asia; Alghamdi Khalil Ibrahim from Saudi Arabia as centre referee, his compatriot Al Ghamdi Muhammad and Iran's Hassan Kamranifar as assistant referees.
The development will come as a further black eye for Nigerian referees, who continue to suffer criticism at home for their handling of matches in the domestic Premier League.

when last did that happen? though it was happening before but no longer in our top flight league.

maybe you should check the Italian and German league, they are good at that yet uefa and fifa still use referees from these leagues.

Drogba nets lone goal against Tanzania

Ivory Coast skipper Didier Drogba needed a 37th minute opportunity to score for his side in an International build-up match against hosts Tanzania at the new National stadium in Dar el salaam on Monday night.
Played infront of a nearly packed 60,000-seater stadium, Taifa Stars of Tanzania gave a good account of themselves against a star studded Ivory Coast side, but still failed to register a win. The home side had two missed open chances by Mrisho Ngassa and Jerson Tegete.

ok. maybe they dont fix matches (who wants to bet in them anyways) but the unfair advantage they give to certain home teams is just ridiculous. . . . certainly didn't escape the CAF officials. when filming of the league started. people heaved a sigh of relief. but alas, they're cheating right before our very eyes. was watching a match btw JUTH fc and zamfara utd some years ago. it was obvious that the ref gave the match to JUTH, so nauseating angry how do you expect those to officiate a continental competition?

What do you say of Pope from England? that ref that gave 3 yellow cards to one player in one match? what about the well known Manure ref called Howard that gives more than 10 minutes added time in a single match and other English ref that gives non existing penalties to big clubs in the premiership? yet these refs are called to officiate so why is caf making Nigerian refs look so devilish?

My advice to these refs (Nigerian) is to always be at their best all the time, it's our media that will make them known to the world, it's what we say about our refs that others (outside Nigeria) will believe. some of our refs are better than some of these ref caf use but then it's Nigeria, everyone have this doubt for anything Nigerian.

Thank God you said some years ago. i watch Nigerian league almost every weekend on TV and i see those performing and those not performing. there's this ref from Abuja (can't remember his name), that guy is good and i can always recommend him, there is another small one like this (can't remember his name or his state either). also the Aboki ref somewhere in the north that got his teeth removed by Enyimba fans last season, he's also a good ref and because he didn't fall for the tricks and bribes from enyimba, he got his teeth removed by the mobs at Aba township stadium (6 tooth lol grin grin grin)
