Female NYSC member serving in Kaduna, who died on 3rd February, Vivian Wobo is set to buried this morning at her father's compound in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Vivian Wobo has passed on in the early hours of Feb 3rd after she complained of being seriously ill.

May her soul rest in peace.

NYSC should be scrap joor... Graduate should be given the net payment that is supposed to be paid as a corps member to set up business... Budget for NYSC khaki, crested vest, boot and sneakers is #90,000 per corper (from a friend who is contracted to sew NYSC khaki). The useless meal served in camp is budgeted at #1mil per meal. The scheme is just a waste of fund and corpers endanger their lives in fragile areas. Pay each graduate #500k after graduation and see how small and medium scale enterprise increases in Nigeria. An indirect way of creating employment for everyone. Very dumb government

The problem with most Nigerians is that blaming Abuja has become a substitute for blaming the actual authorities in charge.

GEJ's village, Otuoke has no light and water. And people are blaming GEJ....despite the fact that Otuoeke has 1) a LGA chairman and 2) a state governor(Bayelsa). And not to mention a state water board, and a local DISCO...and local oil companies. Yet, GEJ was expected to bring development to his village. If GEJ had never become president....does that mean his village should remain underdeveloped.? Should we wait for our son to become president before we see development?

The problem with your comment is that you treat your president as an omnipotent and omniscient God....who can see and do all things.Meanwhile....where were the local health authorities, the local NYSC , etc. ? The point of having local and state governments is to delegate authority, so that one person does not run ragged doing all the jobs that 100 people could do better.

The funny thing is that the person I quoted will be calling for ''True Federalism'' and ''Resource control''. And yet...with attitudes like his own, I wonder what he would say when the true federalism does not deliver the goods...because he still expects Abuja to do everything for him.
