A= N450,000
I = A - P (450,000 - 150,000)... I = 300,000

Where I = P x T x R/100
Make T the subject of the equation... T = 100i / P x R
T= 100 x 300,000/ 150,000 x 10
T= 30,000/ 1,500... T = 20yrs

Amount = Principal + Interest
Where A = 2P
2P = P + I
Divide both sides by P
2P/P = P+I/P
P= I
Where I = Pni

n= p/pi = 1/0.15 = 100/15 = ~6.7yrs

1ii)What principal will accumulate N30000 in 15mths at 8 percent simple interest?

P=? , A= N30,000 , T = 15mths = (15/12) = 1.25
R= 8%
I = A - P, I = (N30,000 - P).
P= 100I/ TR... P = 100 (N30,000 - P)/8 x 1.25
P= 3,000,000 - 100P/8 x 1.25
Cross multiply
10P = 3,000,000 - 100P... (Collect like terms)
10P + 100P = 3,000,000
110P = 3,000,000... (divide both sides by 110)
110P/110 = 3,000,000/110
P = 27,272.73 (approx)
