Do you know that your hair can suffer loss due to improper hair hygiene? Maintaining standards of cleanliness will definitely keep your hair looking strong, shiny, boosting your confidence and getting you ready to take on the world. These are some hair hygiene basics to securing a lustrous healthy hair.

Don’t just wash; know when to wash your hair: Washing the hair always can cause dryness or weaken the hair. Don't scrub or rub too hard as this can irritate your scalp or damage your hair. Always use a good conditioner after washing shampoo. Conditioners help to add moist to the hair, leaving it soft and easy to comb.

Low heat: You don’t necessarily have to use the hair dryer because of the damages it brings to the hair. You can leave it to dry naturally but if hair dryer must be used, it must be used at a low heat.

Know your hair and styles: Stylists who are trained in applying chemicals to hair will be able to evaluate your hair type after drying your hair and give you the best styles to keep your hair away from breakage, add up hair foods that could help retain its natural texture. A few of these oil when applied to the hair helps to give the hair its bounce and shine. Few examples of oil recommended are olive oil, argan oil, avocado oil, castor oil, coconut oil, egg oil, etc.

Get a trim every 5-8 weeks: Trimming the hair helps to keep the hair in shape and remove dead cells which allow growth of new hair.
General health focus: General health includes a balanced diet, exercise, proper care of the body and the hair; drink a lot of water because it also helps to hydrate the hair always.
