Those crying that things are hard now, have not seen anything. Give Buhari and APC some 6 years and see what the real recession is.

I don't need to argue that this government has shown its inability to manage the economy it was handed over.

First PMB did/does not understand the economy and economics, hence the decision to delay appointment of ministers.

Secondly, he also did/does not understand the magnitude of work that needs to be done to keep the nation afloat. This is clearly seen in his appointment of a finance minister who has no solution or policy to keep our economy going.

Thirdly, our president does not know that Nigeria is not an island, and must regard international communities and relations in decision making. This is why he kept refusing to devalue naira, because he felt it's by hardman or strong head.

He also used the strong head and refused to pay subsidy, forcing marketers who sourced forex from blackmarket to sell bellow cost price. He later gave up and allowed an increase.

From all the above, we all can agree that the president might only have the desire to move Nigeria forward, but lacks the skill and ability to do so.

So APC promised heaven and earth without the "Knowhow" to achieve it.

Out of shame and desire to impress, They have started creating fake jobs that will add the overbloated government and suck country dry.

These cannot be sustained without government borrowing. They are throwing money around in the name of school feeding program etc.

But we know that all this money will end up in the toilet . It will only be spent without returns.

Throwing money to be consumed will not bring Nigeria out of recession, rather it's investing that will bring us out.

All these school feeding programs and etc, are just a waste of money. Why will u feed a child a meal a day, when their parents can't afford meals at home anymore.

Now the government that lacks the ability to make critical decisions and policies to change the story of this nation, wants to borrow on our behalf.

The worst mistake the Nigerians will make is to allow this government to borrow outside on our behalf.

They will just borrow, spend and leave us to face greater hardship. By then a dollar will be N5000.

Until we have true federalism and allow every region to develop, this current structure will swallow any amount of.money borrowed.

Those blinded by tribal & religious sentiment will soon file out from their holes like soldier ants to come echo 'Buhari means well for Nigerians'.
Meanwhile some of them did not cook stew last weekend and they were not fasting.

It's unlikely recession - consecutive contraction of GDP - will last long. The economy's "natural" state is growth so even with bad management, a developing country's economy is more likely to grow than contract.

The growth of the economy under GEJ was not simply because of good management but because of benign conditions. Where Buhari erred is that his interference with the exchange rate regime made an inadequate policy regime even worse. But despite that, growth will eventually pick up. Growth picked up in Buhari's first tenure BTW.

Any recovery will by weak and anaemic. So long as a senseless and incomprehensible exchange rate policy exist, growth if any will be pitiful

What I see growing is pounds and dollars.
