I know a lot of you are interested in CLA. It has had great results in animals, in fact, most of the claims come from animal studies and trials. In humans, more than half the claims for CLA lack the evidence or have some evidence but it is unreliable, inconsistent, conflicting, the mechanisms of action are unknown and so on.

Conjugated linoleic acid has been, like many other ingredients I guess, made to look like some miracle ingredient that can do all these things and many people, as usual, have fallen for it and believe everything without doing the actual research. Just because you are getting CLA from a food source or a dietary supplement doesn't mean that it will have a positive effect on your tumor or cancer, unfortunately.

The rumors that CLA can reduce tumors such as cancer, even by as much as 50-60%, are true, however, this was only observed in animals. There is some, very limited and again, not very consistent or reliable evidence of this in humans, however, we don't know or understand how CLA Safflower Oil does this, how it promotes this effect.

Conjugated linoleic acid is very popular in particular with bodybuilders and with individuals that are trying to lose excess fat from their bodies. Again it has some evidence that it can promote a change in body composition, fat mass or fat percentage in the human body. It is much more noticeable and it is much more effective in animals. In humans, CLA is actually very unreliable and inconsistent when used for the purpose of burning fat with it, of improving the metabolic rate.

Because it has shown a positive influence on insulin response in rats that had diabetes in clinical trials, there are also many rumors that it can help people with diabetes a lot but this is also something that, as unfortunate as it is, is very unreliable in humans, there is very little evidence of this for humans and it's highly unreliable and again, inconsistent.

Yes, unreliable and inconsistent are words that describe conjugated linoleic acid quite well I'm afraid. If you are looking to use CLA to lose weight, there may be better options out there but you are free to try, you might get lucky.
