Christians should stop protesting U.S. President Donald Trump and instead shift their focus and get involved by exercising their right to vote, according to New York-based pastor and gospel singer Donnie McClurkin.

In an appearance on the syndicated radio show "Get Up! Mornings With Erica Campbell," McClurkin urged Christians to know the true value of their vote and to not get caught up in the ongoing protests against Trump. The Perfecting Faith Church pastor said protests only stir people's emotions, The Christian Post relays.

"We need to know what our vote really means and how to utilize it. But I don't want us to get caught up in this protest," said Pastor McClurkin on the radio show. "The protests do nothing but rile [people] up. It causes people's anger to rise up and it gives us a false sense of involvement."

Prophecy must be fulfilled regardless of who is placed in the presidency. Christians have been exhorted to pray for our governmental leaders. Of course, we should not do anything that goes against God's standards....however the office deserves our respect. President Trump needs our prayers...not our protests. Life happens...we can't always have everything we want. Protesting because someone isn't the person that you want is very selfish and immature.
