Yam shade owners in Tyo Ukum, Benue State went wild yesterday over the missing yams in their market, staging a protest over the matter. A Facebook user, Charles, describes what is happening through his post. He wrote:

"KWAGH TSER TYO UKUM

After the protest yesterday by yam shade owners in Ukum in regard of daily missing thousands of yams which accusing fingers were pointed at the security whom are paid heavily to guide Zaki biam yam market but unfortunately turn around to steal yams from the market and it was resolved by the local government council,Market association's, shade owners, police , traditional rulers that all security personel presently working should be sack immediately . Right now information reaching me has it that one Honourable Oga in ABUJA directed the chairman of the council to reinstate all those security men ( yam thieves) back to yam market with a strong directive that anyone whom is not comfortable with the hoodlums named security should quit the market."
