Plus, with Trump as the POTUS, the United States will get and keep them all on the negotiation table (caps in hand) one way or the other. We are talking about God's own country here folks - with enromous access to the technology of the future  Dude forget the failling NYT. The Saudis and Germans cannot do that. That is stupid. There are US soldiers and equipments just moved into Germany some weeks ago to protect Europe against Rising Russian military grand-standing. The Chinese maybe. But then who cares? It is bound to happen sooner or later anyway as US pummels china back into its shells in the south-china sea. |

If you knew the ratio of US-China trades... If you knew the global demand for USD... If you knew how far away US is in terms of research and technology... If you knew the share of US infastructure that powers the world... You'd know why China would be in a hurry to forgive those loans if it ever comes to that. The biggest problem America has now is not its debt profile.... America's biggest problem is its unamerican mainstream media (and maybe a bunch of deluded lefties who are utterly clueless about the enromous hatred and envy which many (not all) in the world poke on the United States daily just for being the US). I repeat, China cannot do jack. In fact, China is oppressive. And China's institutions are centuries behind America's institutions. So again, China cannot do jack. Dude you are in the know.... but you would also know that Trump emerged POTUS exactly to PREVENT that disaster which had been in the making for decaeds. America drove its economy with global finance for decades and had gotten too lazy to sustain its production base. Imagine an export as a % of GDP standing at 15% or less. cstr100: To replace the dollar as a global currency, you first have to stop accepting the dollar. This was the motive behind the BRIC currency to which the US has ensured regime change in weaker countries that wanted to opt out of the dollar. On Gold, the finite nature of Gold makes it an ideal currency backer as you can not manufacture gold from thin air like the way the US has been minting worthless paper dollars since Nixon.
