Today I will be teaching you about Iwori-Okonron

Before leaving heaven, this Odu went for divination and he was advised to serve his head with a cock and also to serve Ogun with another cock.

He was told that he would be a prominent Ifa priest on earth and would divine for kings and the aristocracies of birth and wealth.

On getting to the world, he understudied Ifa art from experienced Ifa priests for a very long time. Before he started on his own, he went for divination and was told that he came to the world with a very good head.

He was advised to serve his head with a guinea fowl and to serve Ogun with a dog, fish and snail. As he was returning home, he remembered a point he forgot to probe during divination.

He decided to meet the Awo on the other side of the river. Before getting to the river, he brought out the kolanut in his pocket and served his head with it.

He met a canoe that was almost fully loaded but when he appealed to the paddler to take him on board, he refused bluntly.

He argued that there was still space for him, but the sailor bluntly refused to take him ori 'board. The canoe pulled off without him.

When the canoe got to mid-stream, it overturned and all the passengers were drowned with the exception of the paddler who swam to safety.

It was then that lwori-Okonron appreciated that indeed, he had a good head. He went home and began to practice as an Ifa priest. He also worshiped Ogun and Osanyin on the sideline.

PLS NOTE

When this Odu comes out at Ugbodu, the person should be advised to avoid travelling by canoe and to serve his head with guinea-fowl, and Ogun with dog, fish and snail. He should be told that he has a successful life ahead of him.

Ọbẹ t’o mu ki gbẹ kuku ara rẹ: "However sharp the knife, it cannot carve its own handle”

That is why you need a babalawo to cast Ifa for you and he will tell you the Odu that comes out for you during Ifa divination.

Babalawo means "father of all mysteries" or "father of all secrets"

Babalawo is a spiritual title that denotes a Priest of Ifá.

We ascertain the future of their clients through communication with Ifá. This is done through the interpretation of either the patterns of the divining chain known as Opele or the sacred palm nuts called Ikin, on the traditionally wooden divination tray called Opon Ifá.

We undergo training in the memorization and interpretation of the 256 Odu or mysteries as well as in the numerous verses or Ese of Ifá.

We usually have additional professional specialties. For instance, several would also be herbalists while others would specialize in extinguishing the troubles caused by Aje (witches)

We are generally trained in the determination of problems or to divine how good luck can be maintained and the application of both spiritual and related secular solutions.

Our primary function is to assist people in finding, understanding and being in alignment with one's individual destiny, Ori of life until they experience spiritual wisdom as a part of their daily experience.

We are charged with helping people develop the discipline and character that supports such spiritual growth called "Iwa Pele" or good character.

This is done by identifying the client's spiritual destiny or Ori and developing a spiritual blueprint which can be used to support, cultivate and live out that destiny

NOTE

You can not become a babalawo by asking questions on public forum, you should undertake rigorous Babalawo apprenticeship training and become a Babalawo if it is part of your Ori but for now, you should contact a Babalawo to cast Ifa for you. Ase
