it is a derogatory word on nairaland but it used to a Yoruba warlord who fought against Fulani in Ilorin. Google is your friend.

personally i know only of a movie Afonja (had to do my homework on it so know a thing or two about it) which was shot in 2012 and yes it is about Baale of Ilorin who rebelled about his king..also there is a talk about Afonja syndrome which refers to modern Yoruba leaders who keep selling themselves to the northern elite
