The Akwa Ibom People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) on Saturday, February 25th 2017 suffered a devastating blow, as immediate past Ikot Abasi Local Government Chapter Chairman of the PDP with some exco members, including some Ward officers and their followers decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The grand reception of the decampees took place at Ukpum Ete Civic Centre, Ikot Abasi LGA, Akwa Ibom State. They were received into the APC by the APC Zonal Chairman for Eket Senatorial District, Elder Emmanuel Oton.

The roll call of those who decamped included… former Chapter of PDP, Hon. Udo George, Mr Victor Udo Opo, Barr. Ekong Umo Orok and others

Ikot Abasi LGA is the home town of the current Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), H.E. Mr. Nsima Ekere.
