For a country at war the equipment it uses in the prosecution of it CT/COIN is Humiliating.

How can africa largest economy that is at war for the past 6 year be using a Trainer for it's lead in CAS aircraft, that is beyond stupid.

And we Nigerian are welcoming this, If the west are not sellng us a good and viable Attack plane then we look east.

How can we still be in the process of acquiring Super Tucano Aircraft 6 Years from the start of the CT/COIN in the North-east, this is humiliating

to us as citizen of this country, As one of the Country with the largest economy in the world And in this 21st century how can we be operating

As fighters/interceptor less than "15 Alpha jet(Bought more than 30 years ago)", "10 F7(A knock off of Mig-21)". AS surveillance "2

ATR-32,Diamond, half a dozen of drone,". AS attack helicopter less than 12 attack helicopters, this figure are humiliating for a country whose

forces are currently engaged in the North-East(In an area the size of belgium), South-East, and the central part of the country dealing with fulani herdsmen.
Though it is praiseworthy to note that the Military is doing quite well giving the limited resources, But the loss of Civilian lives is just too much to bear.

With over $3bn budgeted for military spending every year if this is what the armed forces can show for it, then i am sorry someethhing is definitely wrong somewhere.

And you think Alfa jet & j7/f7 aircraft for a country with over $3bn budget is okay? country with less have better Airframe.

You are wrong now that "Morroco is planning to join ecowas", we need to worry about our air power.

There have been many oppurtunities for us to grow our defence industry in the past(The jf17 program for example) the political will is just not there.

And don't tell me that we have a small defence budget, our defence budget is one of the highest in africa, yet we have low strike and attack capability.

Take Morocco,Angola for example, we have a higher defence budget, yet they have a stronger airforce.

There is definitely something wrong with our defence planners.

The quality of our soldiers is there.
I mean you got to praise the airforce personnel, Using Mediocre equipment purchased in limited number to fight.
But what if BH's got their hand on a MANPAD. Do the defence ministers ask themselves that question.

Quality is subjective if we bomb own citizens for accident we include that for quality. So sure we can praise them but at the end of day will they be winners usually a winner take all while we can praise germany they lost a war we can praise zulu they still lose for apartheid we can also praise argentina but they dont have world cup trophy.

You think boko haram could take up shop some angola ethiopia undecided

It is indeed shameful, there was a time North Korea wanted to sell us missile technology, our politicians revealed the proposal and got warned off by the US.
We have neighbours like Chad and Algeria who are well armed with MiGs and Sukhois, these countries can reach us quite easily and yet we do not see the threat.Nigeria,by virtue of our economy, population and ambition, should have air superiority over sub-saharan africa at least.

Blue3k,Henry127,Adminisher,Missy89,panafrican,

I don't know anything about millitary weapons or take tactics. I'll just read what experts have to say on subject.

Nigeria arms industry is pathetic. I always suggested using the cheap labor known NYSC to design and do research on this. The issue with everything is Nigeria sabotages itself. 3 billion and we deal with pirates on coast, insurgents in north and herdsmen all over (supposedly).

Very shameful, But that what you get when you have half baked Leaders/politician making policy for the whole country.

I still say this anytime, It is better to have it and don't Need It Than To Need It And Don't Have It.

One question i will like to Ask Our Defence Ministry is "Have we learnt Nothing from the Boko Haram Insurgency".

True.
We need youthful patriots, someone with nationalistic credentials, not illiterates old men.
Nigeria should be planning how to establish military bases all over Africa by now,not grappling with a $510bn economy and poor social infrastructures.
