N3,980 of 1982 value is not d same as that of today.
Infact value for value N3980 then is almost N1m-N1.5m today.
All d same,d naira has been battered by both d fisherman and d cattle rearer.
Lets hope d intellectual wud be our saving grace.

3k back then was a lot of money! Almost equivalent to 2/3m now. The value of the naira has greatly depreciated, that's what the issue is , back then 3 bottles of beer was probably less than 3 naira .

Yeah you're right my brother. Furthermore, having N3,984 back then is like trying to raise N3 million now. Just as in 1962 back then N3,984 would seem too expensive for a car.

Let's make the best use of the times we have and stop comparing one era with another.

They failed us...sometimes I just hate to see old men and women call the younger generations corrupt, they are quick to claim we are lazy, thoughtless, lacking innovative ideas and whatnots.... They forget the times when they had all the best things in life for almost free if not free, you hear them say things like..;

* I got a well paying job immediately after Class/Standard warefa
* I married ur mother when I was 22
* Things weren't like this in our time (like say na me and my goons come wreck havoc)
* Evaporated milk used to be very THICK
* One Naira was equal to a Dollar
* Life was sweet......our fathers married more than 5 wives, had more than 10kids and took good care of all without stress.
* We had well over 100acres of Cocoa, Kolanut, Yam each ( and you just wonder why they all are now struggling to afford a plot in Lag)
* Thw list of benefits of good living they enjoyed is just endless.


In short, our parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties finished this nation....they never had us in consideration at all and trust me when I tell you they still don't. Come Election Day, these same 'adults' are the ones that will be fighting upandan for #2.5k to vote APC, #2k to vote PDP.

They all decided to neglect agriculture that was feeding us and other nations, generating very good revenue and excellent FX because 'they've' help us to find black gold (how gullible they were).

The older generations really failed us....but then, should we fail ourselves??


AFRICA needs to rise.... Nigeria has to be great again... WE THE YOUTH, the strength and hope of the nation, we need to start fixing our country and take back what's left off their hands.... and NOW IS THE TIME....

Please play your part....as things are right now, if we don't do what's necessary, trust me....even our children would hate us and blame and HATE us for THINGS WE NEVER DID.
