Today, my job is to forget,
All the thoughts that I try to remember,
Everyday when I need the positivity,
They elude me and leave me cold,
I cannot find one warming memory
To make the breathing worth the while

Today the thoughts won't leave me
What? I'm a star with light to spare?
Why didn't you tell me everyday?
Why now? When I believe your condescension
What is true? What is not?
What is true? What is not?

It's too late now,
I took you seriously when you spoke seriously,
The first time, days before,
I hear it once and I get it
But you spoke several times and I cannot forget,
I will do serious things,

When I take courage,
Or when I lose courage,
It matters only where you're standing,
Will I take charge,
Or willI I lose the reins,
It matters not, if there's an ending.

I must forget, I must deny,
This deceitful semblance of hope,
Seducing me with time,
My clock was broken yesterday,
Today I must sweep up the mess,
There is no more time.

There's no more time,
There's a blank sheet of paper and a pen,
There's a potion that brings blackness,
- A one way ticket into hell,
Luggage to keep me for eternity,
And demons like me for company.

There's no more time,
There's a dead dream,
Embers that cannot be fanned to flame
An oscillating resolution,
And a fearful heart,
And eyes determined to stare into fire.

View From The Ledge..

City lights, street hustle,
Too busy to look up,
Too busy being you,
Ignorant and indifferent.

The terror is inside,
Up here, on the ledge,
The turmoil and despair,
Outside, it is quiet.

Blaring horns, screeching wild things,
You're quiet and tame,
The sounds of war are in my ears,
The sounds are from within.

When this egg is cracked,
The yellow runs into the white
The shame runs into the blue,
The red runs into the dirt.

City lights, street hustle,
I'll come to you rotten porridge,
Scrape me off the floor,
And throw me into the trash.
