*Continuous*

I was about to return to the hotel room to confront Father Kenneth when my phone rang out. The caller id showed Chioma. She was crying when her voice came over the line.

“I’m sorry, Lisa,” She said, crying. “When I got to the hotel I thought it was his friend. I didn’t know he was the same person you told me about. It was after we had spent the night together that I found out he was your man. In the morning, his niece, Sharon came over and I was so surprised when she called him Father Kenneth. That was when I knew that he lied to me.”

My head was spinning and I didn’t know whether to believe her or not. I dropped the call and I went in to ask Father Kenneth about the pictures I saw on his phone. He said his friend asked him to give Chioma the things he bought for her. When I asked about the sex chat he said the phone belonged to his friend so it was his friend who sent Chioma the messages. I was so angry, I took my bag and went back to school. I was to later find out that he was also sleeping with my immediate elder sister. One day my sister was going through my phone and she saw the text messages he had sent to me. She said he had been sleeping with her long before she even brought him to our home. I was so devastated and I vowed not to have anything to do with him again.

Chioma came to see me on my campus. She was truly sorry, and she cried, begging me to forgive me. I realized that she was also deceived by Father Kenneth, so I decided to forgive her. It was then that she dropped yet another bombshell about Father Kenneth.

“Lisa, there is something you must know about your man.” She said.

“What?” I asked, with my heart pounding in my ears.

“He’s been sleeping with Sharon, his niece. They are lovers.” Chioma said.

My mind shut down every possibility that he could be sleeping with his own niece. How is that even possible?

“That’s a lie!” I said, thinking Chioma was trying to make Sharon look like the bad person.

“I am your friend,” She said, “What will I gain by lying to you about them?”

I tried to put him out of my mind. It was a struggle but one I was able to overcome. I stopped all forms of communication with him and I no longer take his calls. Although I kept in touch with his niece, Sharon and I got to know from her that he went back abroad. I didn’t hear from him again until my final year. I put extra efforts and time into my studies because I realized that I might have an extra year. A girl in my department and I became friends and study partners. She had a Priest friend who had a business café, so we went to talk to him to let him use one of his computers to type our projects. He kept staring at me the first time we went to the café until I became uncomfortable. He agreed to let us use one of the computers to make research on our project topics and to also use it to type our projects. During one of our visits to the café, he asked me out. I told him that I would think about it and I was skeptical about him because he was also a priest. I asked him why he asked me out and he said there was this innocent aura about me which attracted him to me. I decided to date him since I wasn’t involved with anyone else but this time I would be the one to call the shots. At a point, he was becoming too comfortable and he wanted others to know about us but I told him not expose us. Whenever I visited him he would ask me to bring my belongings into his room and not the guest room but I refused. I wanted everything to be on my terms and rules. I couldn’t help developing a hatred for priests because they are liars and hypocrites. They claim they took a vow of chastity and they preach holiness on the altar but their cupboards are filled with skeletons. I was with him until my final year was over although I had an extra year. I was never in love with him but from that time every choice I made was mine and they were my mistakes. He treated me with respect and he also appreciated me. It was nothing more than that. When I went back home after my graduation I cut off all forms of communications with him.

Even in the 18th to 20th centuries, majority of Catholic Priests have been promiscuous. Most are out and out perverts destroying the lives of young teenagers and adolescents. Go to convents and seminaries you will be shocked at the horrific decay the Church hides away from the public.

Nobody forces them to take the oath of celibacy but I personally believe these perverts, deceivers and liars among them are those who took the oath cos they also see the endless opportunities for them to satisfy their perversions unhindered and undetected. Even the protestants churches are not left out.

Chapter Nine

I went back to school to resit the courses I had failed. While in school I got a call from Sharon, Father Kenneth's niece. She told me he had returned to Nigeria for good and he was the parish priest of a church in Anambra state. She said she had been with him and they were trying to start up a secondary school in the community. The school would be under the church's guidance but it was his initiative. She invited me to join them in setting things up. I was very much interested in the project because I love imparting knowledge to others. She sent me Father's Kenneth's new line and I called him. I could still remember how I felt when his voice came over the line. I had not seen him for a long time and even though I tried to put him out of my mind, I couldn't help missing him. Since I was free in school I traveled down to Anambra. He had the parish house all to himself, the house had four rooms, the master bedroom and three guest rooms. He was very excited to see me and I was too. The house was filled with girls from the village but I didn't make anything of it. Sharon was also there to welcome me and she took my things to the master bedroom. Her own bag and belongings were in the Master bedroom too.

"How many of you sleep in this room?" I asked when I saw her bag in the master bedroom.

"Father Kenneth and I, " Sharon replied.

I decided to stay with one of the village girls in the guest room. She didn't like my suggestion but she obliged by taking my bag to the guest room. That night, Father Kenneth sent one of the girls to call me after having my bath.

"Lisa, why are you staying in the guest room?" He asked.

"I am not staying there because of you. I am only respecting you as a priest by sleeping in the guest room."

The truth of the matter was that I had let go of all he did to me in the past and I had nothing against him in my heart. Immidiately I saw him, the past was erased in my heart, I forgot about the pains, his betrayal, the lies and the heart aches. I forgot that he had slept with both my sister and best friend. All I wanted to do was to hug him and make love to him again. That night we talked about a lot of things and he went on his knees to beg for my forgiveness. If only I had known that it was all acted out. We made love that night and once again I was hooked in his net. It was during my stay at Anambra that I started noticing some things about him. Things which showed he had a wicked heart. I went back to school and returned after I had sorted things out. When I came back from school, he searched my bag and removed all the money he found in it. He said he borrowed it from me and that he would pay me back. I was shocked that he would borrow money from me but i simply let it go. Some nights when I woke up he won't be beside me on the bed. He also took all the money Sharon had with her. He did that because he wanted us to be dependent on him. When I asked him why he was always sneaking off in the middle of the night he would say he wanted to have a private talk with one of the girls. Unknown to me he was sleeping with the girls, not just one but all of them. The girls, he promised to help and educate when the school is established.

I wanted to go back to school and I asked him for transport fare because he took the money I had. He gave me a blank check, that he would give me a call and tell me the amount to write on it. That was how I went back to school without a penny on me. I became stranded in school and I went hungry. I kept calling him but he neither picked my calls nor returned it. I had to call my dad and he sent me some money. My dad also sent money for my accommodation because I was squatting with friends. I made my hair after I got the money and went back to Anambra state.

Father Kenneth had another priest with him when I arrived and this friend of his complimented me.

"Lisa, you told me you were going back to school for your test but you went to stay with a man." Father Kenneth said, angrily. " You keep saying you have no money but yet you showed up with a new hairdo! You are a prostitu.te and I am so disappointed in you!"

I was so embarrassed because his friend and the other girls were staring at me. I ran into the guest room and cried my heart out. He came into my room and searched through my bag. He pocketed the money he found inside the bag and took my phone from me. He went through my text messages and saw the credit alert from my dad. He didn't apologise to me, he simply threw the phone at me and walked out of the room. I didn't know that he told everyone he was the one sponsoring my education and he was the one taking care of me. All this and many more I got to know much later. That was the same story he had for all the girls living with him. I stopped sleeping in his room and everything went back to normal. I began to teach at the new school he established and I enjoyed teaching the pupils.

"Aunt Lisa, Father wants to see you." One of the girls said to me some days later. It was late into the night and I knew why he was asking to see me. I went to see him in his room and he started to smooch and kiss me. I was on my period so I told him that I couldn't have sex with him.

"Okay. Call Sharon for me," He said.

For some strange reasons I felt uneasy when he asked me to call his niece. I stood up and went to get her. Then I went back into my room but still I was uncomfortable. After some minutes, I tiptoed towards Father Kenneth's door and what I heard broke my heart. They were both grunting and moaning. He was sleeping with his niece! I went back to my room but I could no longer sleep. I wish I had the courage to confront them then but I began to watch him closely after that night. That was when I realized that he was sleeping with the young girls living with him. He began to give me attention when he noticed that I was being cold towards him. One evening he asked me to go into town with him and he asked me to take my ATM card along. On the way he said he was broke and he wanted to lend some money from me. When we got to where the ATM was, we discovered that it wasn't working. So we had to drive to another neighbouring town that night to use the ATM. I was so shocked when he removed all the money I had in my account. The money my dad sent for my accommodation fee but I remain calm. On our way back to the parish house, Father Kenneth stopped the car and had sex with me. I didn't want to but he was much stronger so he had his way. He was very excited about having sex on the road because he had seen it in his porn film collections. Maybe it was a fetish, he also enjoyed masturbating while watching porn and he would also want me to masturbate him while he was watching porn.

Abeg stop blaming the Catholic priest...... I agree he was supposed to be blamed before the girl gained admission cos I assume she was young and naive but not when she's almost thru with university and still sleeping with the man after knowing this same man had slept with her sister and friend. This girl needs to be institutionalized. This is beyond naive. Abeg bibijay rename ur novel 'mumu 2.0'. This girl is really under some kind of spell. Rubbish. angry
But nice write up Bibi. U don't disappoint even if its a true story. I owe u a treat. wink

You don't know what young girls can do for love. He was way older and more experienced so he manipulated her. So how about that treat you mentioned?

This is no longer being naive, biko. It's been foolish. Who does that. Even a secondary school student would not be this foolish, talk more of a university student.

There is a clear difference between being naive and being plain foolish!
