Teacher: With a degree in sociology, you can become a lecturer in an institution of higher learning.

Police Officer: A police officer needs an intense understanding of human behaviour and good observation skills. If a police officer is trained to have a deeper understanding of factors that affect community dynamics such as race, economics and diverse social customs, then that officer may be better equipped to deal professionally and confidently with problems and challenges that may arise in local communities.

Travel Writer: A good travel writer speaks to the locals, eats with the locals and spends time like a local. The critical thinking skills you acquired during your stay at the university will help you analyse your experiences.

Media Planners: assess the advertising needs of clients and design a media plan to optimise sales to various demographic groups. This is a job that involves the application of sociological knowledge in learning the behavioural patterns of their target audience. This helps to select the most suitable media platforms to advertise their products or services.

Social Workers: This a job that involves the application the knowledge of social dynamics and social institutions studied as a sociology major to assess client issues and resolve their problems.
