i m not sure I agree with this, this can only be true when a pro is playing a rookie, when two pros play, the opening is basically just a rite of passage, doesn't determine shit.. except, you make a really terrible opening and in that case, you still may have something up your sleeve that your opponent is oblivious to! that's the beauty of chess.

download and join the world's official chess community. (chess.com) it has the game, tutorials, live play with people All over the world, hints and all. I must say learning chess is a lifelong process, you need to give the effort, there are millions of materials on chess online, but for now learn the basic chess openings, Queen's gambit, Sicilian, ruy Lopez, etc.

I also recommend the chess titans on your PC, I don't know anyone personally who has won at a level 10 on that game.

1. Firstly dont just download any chess app, download your app from chess.com. That app would analyze your moves at the end, teach you tactics anf openings anf also allow you to play online with ch3ss players all over the world.
2. Google things like " best chess openings", chess tatctics, "How to use a Bishop" or "Rook" or knight" you would find ideas tht would help you.
3. Also there are tons and tons of videos on youtube that you just have to search for.
4. Practise as much as possible always.

I have interest in playing chess since the first time I saw some guys playing it over 10 years ago. Although I never knew what the game was all about but from the way they gave it 100% unwavering attention, I knew the gains will be worth the pains. Someone (an amateur too sha ) later explained the functions of the 'people' on the chessboard (some months back when I went visiting)... and I realised it's actually more than a game.

I downloaded the app but if I play it 50 times, the computer will win 50 times despite the fact that I'm still on 'level one'. I even used it as my wallpaper (maybe seeing it always will enhance my ability) but it didn't help...

Please I will like any member who would be willing to share basic techniques with me... maybe there's something I'm yet to get right. Any necessary tip you share will be welcomed. Someone out there may also develop an interest in it as u share your knowledge on it.
