OK so let’s deal with first things first.
Not everybody must end up as a developer; but learning how to code is the new literacy.
Last year, a global news media published a Dutch web developer that had created many websites, maybe free.
Unfortunately, he added a backdoor script to enable him have access to the username and password of each site he developed. With that, he could access emails and databases of the infected sites.
He has been doing this for years. He has mastered his craft. In fact, this incident was first discovered in 2014.
Now guess, how many sites do you think were infected? 20? 100? 500?
.
.
.
.
A whopping 20,000 sites were infected according to the report.
Imagine this!
All these sites could possibly have over 5 million users and daily visitors.
Apparently thousands sites were affected because a dubious hacker prowled on the ignorance of 20,000 business owners or entrepreneurs who could not code.
What if the owners knew how to, at least, read and understand the language of the computer? This mischievous scheme couldn’t have gone undetected.
Investing time and resources to gain coding skills may save you tons of damage in the near future.
Learning how to code is the new literacy.
