Synord:
5) Lil Kesh - This dude practically has little to nothing to offer musically.. With below par lyrics, childish delivery on topics relating to sexual acts and mostly noisy beats, one can say Lil kesh barely survived on the hype of YBNL ..This can be seen in his three singles released after his exit from YBNL,kojo, shele Gan Gan and fake love, all 3 singles not performing to expectation not forgetting his highly forgettable ( pun intended ) debut album, YAGI ...

4) Ycee - Zaheer as he is fondly called is another very overated act...His lyrical prowess can be no where compared to the likes of poe,ozone,Yung6ix and even Erigga..The act who has been using his rapsy voice to gain a edge ,may be surely talented but at the same time ,highly overrated compared to the crop of Rappers out here in Nigeria grinding..

3) Ice Prince - Former choc city act , Ice prince... I find it very hard to believe he actually won a BET award...With wack ass flows like ' I shit in twos ,poo poo...'. one cannot but wonder how the act has managed to acquire a large fan base and selling out shows ...

2) Davido
- Yes. ,Davido is very very overrated..Apart from the obviously poor vocal ability, we all know how he comes about his songs including his latest single. The artists has been using nothing but money, influence and connection to force his songs on Nigerians ..If u doubt me, search davido Tim Westwood freestyle on Google and see for yourself.

1) Mr Eazi - The most overrated artiste I know of as to be Mr Eazi.. With an astounding lack of musical surprise and monotonous delivery , How the act managed to gain a huge following with his weak lines and burns boy like vibes remains a surprise ..

These are the five most overrated artists in Nigeria and I hope they prove their talents soonest ..

Music Changes.
The kind of music Nigerians want is what they are getting....
We want noise, so we get it....
Mr. Eazi is actually very good....

You must be way outta your godamn mind.
I should not even dignify you with my response cos you're too emotional to understand the bone of contention here and I should not really be doing this.

Tupac lewd right? agreed. Tecno, lewd right? Agreed. Pls why on earth should you be using Tupac's lewd lyrics to juxtapose that of Tecno. Oh My God. Should I even take you serious at all. We are talking about making meaning and not mumbling meaningless words together in the name of forming rhymes. Pls get this and stop arguing if you don't want to understand.

See for yourself below.

Tupac Unconditional love

lyrics
Album: Greatest Hits
(What y'all want?)
Unconditional Love (no doubt)
Talking bout the stuff that don't wear off
It don't fade
It'll last for all these crazy days
These crazy nights
Whether you wrong or you right
I'm a still love you
Still feel you
Still there for you
No matter what (hehe)
You will always be in my heart
With unconditional love

[Verse One:]

Come listen to my truest thoughts, my truest feelings
All my peers doing years beyond drug dealing
How many caskets can we witness
Before we see it's hard to live
This life without God, so we must ask forgiveness
Ask mama I got this urge to die
Witness the tears falling free from my eyes

Verse Two:]

Just got the message you've been calling all week
Been out here hustling on these streets, ain't had a chance to speak
But you know, with you and me it's on G
We could never be enemies, cause you been such a good friend to me
Where would I be without my dogs
No wonder why when times get hard
Cause it ain't easy being who we are
Driven by my ambitions, desire higher positions
So I proceed to make Gs, eternally in my mission
Is to be more than just a rap musician
The elevation of today's generation
If could make 'em listen
Prison ain't what we need, no longer stuck in greed
Time to play and strategize, my family's gotta eat
When we make somethin out of nothing
No pleasure in the suffering,

Which one of these two would you gladly copy words for words, unedited to woo a lady? Which one comes in very resourceful? I mean just merge 4 lines together of each artist here and tell me which one sounds like someone is loosing his mind and going insane already. wink
Why are u posting lyrics for me?to read or what? You just go get a song that suits your argument&paste this crap for me to read.I can post tupac songs that have no meaning.Tupac's greatest song 'Hit em up' has no meaning other than him telling B.I.G he f*cked his wife.Should I copy the lyrics word to word to go woo a lady?Oga,stop trying to hard. Besides a married man can copy tekno's pana to make his wife smile.it's still being influential.the only thing is that both artists take different approaches in solving societal problems.Criticising one&leaving the other is as I said before hypocrisy

BELIEVE ME"
(FEAT. DRAKE)

[Hook - Drake:]
I'm the only one that get the job done
I don't know a nigga that can cover for me
Yeah, got some game from my day
So she might say she love me
She don't love me like she say she love me
Believe me, believe me
I'm that nigga, boy they love me in the streets
I'm not tryna find nobody else to beat
I'm the one they come to see because they all
Believe me

[Verse 1 - Drake:]
Yea, rip, rip, rip
It's been me and Young Tune off the rip
That's the man that put me in this shit
If a nigga Bleep with him, I'll put him down quick
Got a verse for anybody wanna talk about the clique
I've been takin' shit light, you don't wanna hear me trip
God damn, do y'all really know who you fuckin' with?
Yeah, I mean you can't blame me for wonderin'
Doesn't matter, could be winter or the summer
On the road, I do One Direction numbers, I don't fuckin' miss
Yeah, Stunna and Mack know
When Wayne was gone for eight months, we put this thing up on our back
And I was snappin' off on every single track though
Collect call from the boss like where we at though
I was like, "Hah, it's our time, nigga"
He left Rikers in a Phantom, that's my nigga
And I've been rockin' with the team, Tha Carter IX
And we YMCMB, waitin' on somebody to try us, nigga
Yeah

[Hook - Drake]

[Verse 2 - Lil Wayne:]
Lord knows I'll murder one of these niggas, yeah
Uh, His and hers Ferraris, nigga
One for me, one for my daughter, nigga
Waitin' for someone to test me like a Harvard nigga
I told her 2-23, two Michael Jordans, nigga
Come on, fight these shell cases like a lawyer, nigga
Find out where you stay, and act like we found some oil, nigga
Out of duct tape so when he prayin', I ignore the nigga
All I gotta say is sayonara, nigga
Drop dead gorgeous but the bitch ain't dyin' for a nigga
Where the real queens at? Shout out Capone and Noreaga
We can shoot it out and see who live to tell the story later
Diamonds in my Rollie face, cannot be exfoliated
They think I'm associated, I'm the one that orchestrated
Yayo get her ass whipped, whip that ass like horses racin'
Ain't 'bout what you walk away from, it's 'bout what you walk away with
Dead Presidents, them coffins vacant, I must be doin' somethin'

[Hook - Drake]

[Verse 3 - Drake:]
Had to get it poppin' off the rip
Rich young nigga that ain't never had to trick
Slim Thug flow but you know I like 'em thick
If she get a job at DOA, I drop her off a tip
I had to get it poppin' off the rip
I'm the one they tell ya been reppin' in the 6
Come into the city and ya niggas get to trippin'?
We'll take ya to the Scarborough Bluff and drop you off a cliff
Well damn... just be happy for the man
Nirvana, Coldplay nigga got bands
Ink from the money got it all over my hands
Goin' out to Houston spendin' all of my advance
V Live just took me for a cheque
"Drake you know I love you, you just took me outta debt"
Yes right now you are lookin' at the best
Mothafuck award shows and mothafuck the press like that!

[Verse 4 - Lil Wayne:]
Mothafuck the rest
When they jumped off the porch, I was stumblin' up the steps
I'd give what I collect before I give up my connect
It'd be a cold day in Hell, icicles made of sweat
One finger... slidin' 'cross my neck
Niggas know what that mean like they deaf
Nigga I'll fire this nina like it's her first day
On the job and the bitch overslept
Tune stay humble, nigga I'm a king
Need a horn and a drumroll
They throw mothafuckin' roses at my feet, nigga
I don't step on one rose
I'm the only one that get the job done
I don't know a nigga that can cover for me
Tape a couple kilos to the bitch stomach
She look like she got a bun in the oven from me
Preheat... believe me
All you gotta do is pay me every week
I had these bitches havin' babies every week
I'm the nigga, see me skatin' in the streets
Gone

(Believe me) [x3]

[Drake:] Rip, rip, nigga

Re: Five Most Overrated Nigerian Artistes by Chukzii(m): 11:58pm On Mar 31, 2017
I don't know why people grade music on just lyrical content. Every musician has his/her target audience. Musicians like techno, lil kesh target clubs, beer parlors, who will listen to your lyrics when he/she is drunk. The person needs a good beat den a voice that rhymes with the beat to dance. Musicians with voice like Timi, Dare, Praiz sing for a different audience, u can't play Folashade or pray for me in a club, unless its not a major club night or still early. And those that keep saying Nigerians and there love for mediocre music, let me tell you, it happens everywhere, I have some foreign songs that have wack lyrics and they still sell. I have a song that David guetta jst made a beat and the person that sang, sang for less than a minute, that's the kind of things u hear in their clubs. Music is made up of not just lyrics, u have a good beat, the rhyme, the voice of the artist too. I like and listen to almost every genre and I enjoy them, depending on my mood though

Brodie I tell you, criticism is like evaluating by the merits and faults, these people do wack lyrics and y'all be screaming and shouting they're commercial artist, when they head to Grammy's Award they will now start shouting the Americans are full of racist, Abegi check your lyrics do you deserved to be nominated or even attend grin

What do you mean by when they head to Grammy? If you don't actually understand anything about music, why don't you keep quiet instead of Moving from page to page forming music analyst. So by ur analysis,if Grammy's was a place where 'real music' was celebrated(judging from ur post) then why was a mumble artist like lil yatchy nominated at all,Frank ocean was omitted and for Christ sake ,Drakes hotline bling won best Rap song?(A song that he didn't even have one Rap verse talkess of being a rap/hiphop song?)

I haven't used, even 100hundred naira to buy naija music collections before and you can't find any.. In my phone, except american hip hop, jazz and high tempo jamz (sia, david guetta, kalvin harris etc)
listening to them are unbearable because most of them sounds like where kids are hitting sticks on empty bottles (so much noice) "lol"
try to observe one thing, if you are listening/watching music stations on cable network, the sound will seem moderate when foreign music is playing but the sound will became so noisy, disturbing and annoying when they start playing naija music.

Let's for once pretend as if we already didn't know the songs below and you're just coming across the lyrics for the very first time. Imagine you stumbled on a book containing lyrics below written by your kid cousin or child, wouldn't you just laugh it off? Would you even take it serious.

MAJORITY OF NIGERIAN SUPPOSED LOVE SONGS SHOULD CARRY A CAVEAT ; PLS DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME

Gone are those days you'd copy a love song and use it words for words to ask that your secondary school classmate out. Days of ; All my life by KC&JOJO, unbended knee, BoyzIImen.... Guess what? It never failed. Say it and watch her smiling even chuckling, going back to her hostel gushing about it with her friend and next day you see them all admiring you. Pls go ahead and use those ones pasted above on a lady, I could only imagine the reaction that would follow .

FACT:
MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE THAT WOULD CLAIM THEY LOVE ANY OF THESE SONGS CAN'T PROUDLY SAY WHAT PARTICULAR MESSAGE THEY CARRY. THEY ONLY GET TO LOVE IT AS A RESULT OF FONDNESS GROWN FOR IT THROUGH CONSTANT AIRPLAY. The more you hear a song the more you grow fond of it. Also many people that would not see any thrash in these songs are those ones that go to beer palor or clubs all the time. When you constantly listen to songs under the influence of alcohol, you'd definitely have nothing against it but love it.
what a guy

Tekno is NOT overrated. Check out the positive comments about his songs on YouTube's from whites and carribeans.

His dance and creativity makes him celebrated. And he is still evolving. Personally, I consider him well rated.

Some of you haters are simply sick.

I had not known of Eazi till he won the next rated award at the headies. I went afterwards to download a few of his songs and found them unbearable. I try not to listen to Lil Kesh; dude is loud and empty.

i tell you, mr eazi is so overrated beyond belief. His lyrics are the poorest of anyone on that list yet he somehow won next rated.

Anyway am glad most people now realize how overrated that dude is.

Just like you, i downloaded multiple songs and cant find a single one worth bragging about.

If I mistakenly tune in to a radio or TV station that plays that Highly Mediocre Mr Ealing, I waste no time in changing or turning it off instantly.
That guy takes the cake for the most Incoherent and meaningless lyrics in songs [back to back]

My list

Mr Eazi

Davido [imagine the rubbish he just released. Also so senseless like that of Mr Eazi. Had a relief when I later realised it was Tecno on the beat cos he's another mediocre]

Tecno [yea, I know everyone loves him. Even with his meaningless songs and slangs/terms] it doesn't erase the fact that his lyrics are highly incoherent and childish. What is Diana oh Diana oh I wanna take you away? Or what is Baby Pana and whatever other rubbish he mumbled ?

Let's forget the fact that these guys are famous hence whatever rubbish they dish out gets huge acceptability. Imagine for once that it's an unknown artist that sang any of those their songs, imagine it's me that came out shouting Diana oh Diana ooo, would it make any sense to anyone? Would people wait to listen to it to the end?

i agree mr eazi is overrated, the most overrated artiste in nigeria today. But your credibility went out the window when you mentioned tekno. Tekno is very good and has some of best catchy tunes in the industry today.

Also have you heard rara? The lyrics in that song was dope.

Tekno is 100% certified great. Unlike the overrated eazi
