A rocket has slammed into a hospital in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib where doctors are treating victims of a suspected chemical attack, which has killed at least 58 civilians, including 11 children.

The toxic gas attack took place in the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun, in the central province of Idlib, early Tuesday morning and the hospital strike came just hours later.


Syrian opposition activists have claimed the chemical attack was caused by an airstrike carried out either by President Assad's forces or Russian warplanes.

Russia's military said its planes did not carry out any strikes near the town.

A projectile hit a hospital in Khan Sheikhoun hours later, bringing down rubble on top of medics as they struggled to deal with victims of an attack.

It is believed that another 60 of the approximately 200 people exposed to the gas were injured in the attack.

Reports citing the Idlib Health Directorate, however, say that up to 100 people could be dead from the gas attack, and another 400 are injured.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said those killed had died from suffocation and the effects of the gas.

Photos and video emerging the incident show children to adults limp and suffering from breathing difficulties.

Some appear foaming at the mouth.



Victims suffered from fainting, vomiting, foaming at the mouth and pin-point pupils, medical sources told local reports.

Many victims, including children, were stripped down to their underwear and sprayed with hoses as activists tried to wash the gas off of them.

What a terrible thing. The only country to have used chemical weapons in USA. They ruined Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I believe Putin wouldn't stoop so low to attack Syria with chemical weapons. There are some people behind all these attacks and apparently they are same people.

NATO labelled Russia the aggressors at the same time Russia find themselves to be surrounded by NATO troops. It's really funny that the WEST wants Putin to step down.

They tried ruining the economy of Russia, that didn't work. Putin kicked USA ass in Ukraine, Syria and USA. Now, it's time to use the citizens against Putin.

Kremlin knows better, this is the same concept used in Libya to fall Gaddafi and put Libya to ruins. It's the same strategy used in Syria which fell Syria but Assad is yet to vacate his seat thanks to Russia, China and North Korea

Recently, some people staged a protest in Russia demanding for Putin to step down. Yesterday, a 22-year-old Akbarzhon Dzhalilov, Kyrgyz-born Russian citizen, attacked St. Petersburg. Today, it's chemical weapons attack on Syria.

Lol, smart people can connect the dots. This is just to spite the citizens to go against Putin and for UN to grant NATO a positive response in order to invade Russia.

But guess what, bigots and foools sees all these attacks as religious affiliated.

YOU maybe right or wrong because we do not know what the fifth columnists still have up their sleeves especially when you take into consideration the bomb blast that happened some few days ago in Russia.Achieving their aim is a must for them they think...But if Russia finally caves in to the their demand that ASSAD leaves the seat,it would mean a lot to Russia and further dent her image of trying to avoid direct confrontation with NATO...

The chemical attack was by Assad, so therefore, Russia surely knows about it. Russia isn't innocent, they've destabilized Ukraine, in fact they're supporting a mad man in Libya who's men execute people like animals.

the guy don't knw anything IS HE CRITICIZING THE US THAT HAVE WASTED ALOT BOTH IN MONEY (BILLIONS OF DOLLARS) AND SOLDIERS TO BRING PEACE TO A REGION THAT DOES NOT EVEN CONCERN THEM BECOS THEY KILLED SADDAM(WHO IS EVEN A BAD GUY) dah why i called him a terrorist.The world need to forgive this is one reason Israel is spending alot just to survive.
