Hello all,
Newbie here.....
You guys have given me the motivation to venture into this. I have concluded to start searching for a poultry......
Read about organic and inorganic..... And I think I should at least master the inorganic way first.
Please if there's any1 in the business of selling poultry materials..... Let me know. So I can at least patronise a member......
Starting from the scratch so i need all the help I can get plz.
I intend starting with 200layers and 100 broilers.
Plz what strains do I get?
Anyone around benin/asaba axis here?
Thanks
please be warned:
dont start with 300 birds at once.

Start with 50 birds. Repeat for 6 months and the add more.

Try and get Battery cages as soon as possible, deep-liter system can be depressing when frequent cleaning becomes necessary!

Also as a newbie.. READ FROM PAGE 0 and you will learn ALOT here.

Day 46
Feed update
Rico Gado super starter
Chikun starter
Koudjis conc.

My observation about Koudjis according to manufacturers specification is that its superior to all Nigerian feeds and maybe one of the reason for the fast growth of my current batch.
Crude protein as high as 23.5% starter (0-17 days), 21.5% grower (17-35 days) and 20.5% finisher (Over 35 days)

I also employed the use of ice blocks in water on hot days and the use of herbs made the chicks almost wormless and pathogen free

Please I need explanation on this koudjis conc.

Is it a feed or an additive that is used to make home made feed?

How is it used?

I've loose 5 of my broilers 12 week. Green stool and weakness, and they 5 weeks. Any help will be appreciated. They were diagnosed of Newcastle and cocidiosis. I use chikun feed.

Give admacine + Polidine for 5days and then give Lasota. Isolate the weak ones and then treat the whole flock. Thank you.

There is one but the solution is very strong. If you have aloe vera, crush and add it

27 pepper seed + ash = 3 litre drinker

I believe this should work because that is the combo people that rear chickens locally use.
