I wouldn't want to make a new post in politics section, but I'd make an exception here.

@SillyMods, Sarrki, and all you Zombies are very sick. Because Lawal who was being shamelessly celebrated has now being dropped. Same way if Magu is dropped, you folks would shamelessly say, better late than never.

Nigerians are also very gullible.

The talk that there are new evidences against the SGF is all a lie. Buhari is simply using the SGF as a peace offering for the Senate as part of the recent Executive-Legislature peace process. And it made sense to do this now because they were considering relieving a Southern head of service and wanted to appear balanced.

It's all about 2019. Buhari and APC will sacrifice anyone for 2019.

Because there is no way new evidence magically cropped up after Oke was implicated on a different issue.

As for the theory of a cover-up, that's plausible. If you want to cover up anything, using the NIA is the perfect blanket. It is an intelligence agency with secret units that millions of us don't know about. Oke retires in November. He was to start his leave of absence in August. That's like 4 months away. And there's no way they'd find dollars minted in 2016 in an apartment and claim it was appropriated in 2014/2015.

Oke CANNOT be arrested and tried. Only the Attorney-General, President/Vice President, and service chiefs have the security clearance to review his case file. Magu does not have that clearance. That's why EFCC is yet to release a press statement. And that's why Magu is not part of the committee to review his case.

So if you wanted to really cover up anything by a big-wig in the government, Oke is the perfect fall guy. The NIA will not say anything to the press since they're in on it, and the matter will die a natural death. While the money is re-wired to the rightful owner.

Recall that the money was immediately deposited with the CBN and Oke already wants to submit his leave of absence letter.

This has nothing to do with an anti-corruption war. If it was, Lawal would have been axed long before now. Buratai too, Kyari (with his higher 500m loot) et cetera. It's a game of politics plain and simple, and the more you look, the less you see. Any body's head would roll if a strong group (in this case, Saraki and his Senate) demands for it.

And Saraki and the Senate are the real winners here as they've humbled the Presidency, again. All he had to do was ask EFCC to name the owner of the loot, and the Presidency scampered for a reasonable response.

Even Sagay would be next if the Senate insists, since he can't seem to keep his leaking mouth shut and he has the same air of arrogance that Lawal and Magu have.

The big upsetting news leading to 2019 started with Ali Ndume's suspension. Expect more to come.

And expect zombies to have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks and months, accusing and counter-accusing, praising and shortly after expressing disappointment.

In as much as I agree with your train of tot, this issue still amaze me, never heard of NIA prior to this and I guess we can compare NIA to CIA not necessarily side by side but responsibility.
I still don't understand how NIA will have that amount of money that is enough to seat any government in the work, as an intelligent agency you have that amount of money and you can't figure out that another agency is busting your stash house thats a total failure IMO the NIA might not be as intelligent as we tot. They should have few moles in the government, all agencies, churches, mosque, IPOB, OPC, fulani, BH... and gather intelligent report but if they can be busted by another govt agency thats real BS. that means even if they have a safe house whoever they are protecting is not safe

The NIA's jurisdiction is foreign intelligence and counter-intelligence.

The DSS/SSS covers domestic intelligence.

And that is why NIA stores cash in dollars. Naira has no value outside Nigeria.

The EFCC ordinarily should never have busted a NIA safe house because we have a FIIB agency that liase and enables communication between law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Oke prolly heard late about the bust, and he was already at Magu's office by the time EFCC officials were at the compound but yet to make the bust.

It was Magu's stubbornness that made the EFCC officials go ahead with the bust while Magu directed Oke to go to the President. That has been a PR nightmare for the Presidency. Just like the double conflicting DSS reports on Magu. Magu should have directed his boys out of that facility the moment Oke stepped into his office.

If Magu had done this nonsense to the DSS director. I can assure you, Magu would be the one suspended now.

The Presidency does not want to axe Magu for reasons that are not well known and Magu was smart to put it in the public space. What he did compromised National Security (whether or not it was a loot) and he's only getting a pass because Buhari and Osinbajo has his back.

And therein lies the issue really, we are all outside the government, so we really can't be sure of what is going on. But whatever it is, it sure as hell isn't the BS they're selling the public. And it sure as hell is about 2019.

Nigeria has as many as 10 intelligence agencies, most of which you don't know about.

Talk to any Nigerian intelligence officer right now and you'd practically sense the disgust. Under no circumstances is law enforcement supposed to take a swipe at the intelligence community in the public domain. Magu reports directly to the President, even if he had not made a public or media show of the bust, he would have taken it directly to the President and air his objections. The President would direct the DSS and Attorney General to do a classified investigation, the money retrieved (if it was a loot) and Oke would be made to retire early.

Buhari has changed the Director of the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) three times since he was elected in 2015. Not once did it end in the papers, and none of them were publicly humiliated like Oke.

Lovely! This will send good signal to any other govt top guy who may want to take the same route.

My small grouse is that this could have happened since January/February at the latest.

Notwithstanding, it's still far better late than never cos I can't recall any past top government official who was removed for infractions as this one.

Never happened. PMB still proves that he's capable of doing the right thing when the chips are down.

Dude, it is better not to write than to lie with confidence.

Check OBJ and GEJ administration.

Dig into your history well bro. Barth Nnaji then minister of power under GEJ government was removed for the same offence so nothing is new here.I had expected this action long but it never took place untill now.PMB might be working but he appears the slowest in taking decision compared to the past leaders and that has been knocking blows to the few achievements he has made so far. Many crooks in his cabinets need to be shown the way out if he is expected to make any monumental and clear success.

Which is why his submissions are completely stupid.

So Oke would call FFK to bribe Magu?

FFK that already has a case to answer with EFCC.

And Oke has a direct line to the President, so he has no reason to beg Magu. Because Magu cannot investigate his case file. Magu doesn't have the security clearance.

Magu is a pawn. Oke is knowingly taking the fall for the greater good. He is an intelligence officer who has risen to the pinnacle of his career and has less than 4 months left on the job. Oke is an intelligence officer. Which makes him the perfect fall guy for a cover-up as he is in on it, has nothing to lose (as he is retiring soon), and can do the theatrics (such as crying in public). Really? The director of the largest foreign intelligence operation in Africa, crying on live TV simply because he is suspended 4 months to when he is going on leave.

You believe that nonsense and you have the guts to quote me.

It's politics and all about 2019.

PS: And sure, Assad didn't use those weapons. Anybody who thinks so is delusional. Trump is using him to score cheap points. Like the MOAB drop on ISIS.

Oduah, Orubebe, Ngama, Olubolade (SE, SS, SW, NE) ALL left government on the same day to campaign for Jonathan
pls which section in the constitution stipulates that for a sitting minister to campaign for a presidential candidate he or she must first resign?

But this man must not fall alone o, he must fall with other people that aided corruption like agencies under sgf office short paying their staff allowances like FRSC.

Why did Buhari wait till April to sack Babachir?
The Senate's report appeared on his desk in December, yet he cleared Babachir of any wrong doing.

Meanwhile the NIA man's case appears suspicious. Buhari fired all security heads in 2015 but left Mr Oke (presumably to keep watch on their loot)

Why was Ayo Oke not fired in 2015?
Retained so he can guard Buhari and Amaechi's Ikoyi billions?

Oga wailing is not your calling so you need to take the back seat, When allegation is being leveled against someone investigation need to be done first before you act and that was PMB has done.. The Senate ask for his sack and you want the President to just sack him without investigation first when the Senate are covering their own people and saying there's separation of power..

I see nothing wrong in what PMB just did and if you don't like how he act oga you can denounce your citizenship and relocate to namibia..

You talk like you are the president.
So what exactly is the point you are trying to make with all these essay?
That everyone should just resign to fate? That the FG should abandon the anti corruption crusade and allow things to continue as before. ? That Saraki and Co should be allowed to run the country aground??
What exactly are you saying??

I'm simply making an exposition that all is not what it seems. I've made multiple contributions on this forum on the way forward, I don't have to start repeating myself, because it's useless to do so.

I have not logged into Nairaland in ages, but i had to comment on this.

You are absolutely spot on corncerning the NIA and Oke's fall man role in this saga.

No need trying to explain stuff to people that never knew about NIA till this incident...

LordAdam16:

You are the one who is clever by half.

Just use your brain, When happen then is to tell the Senate that they can't control the Presidency on what to do, The Senate are saying the Presidency should sack this and that then and if the President do that then it will amount to something else.. Next time think before you post, This is like someone report you to your father and ask your father to punish you immediately without even investigating the person claim.

The forum is quite frankly a sh*thole now. I'm only commenting on this thread because the uninformed had spread their ignorance too far on an event that is very important in the run up to 2019.

I'm only replying a few people who may genuinely have questions that deserve answers. I can't be bothered to reply some of the nonentities that quoted me.

If he is in on the whole charade than remind me why magu bursted the safe house.

Does it mean Magu was not in on it?

If magu was in on it then why are they showing us all this while they can silently carry out their political tradings.

Why was oke the fall guy? who stands to benefit from his fall? For all we know much people stands to benefit from magu being the fall guy than oke or lawal. The Senate doesn't care about Oke they care much about Magu.

You said Magu is a pawn yet he took out a bishop with his burst and he's still standing while the rook, the king, the queen, the knight are all present happy to sacrifice the bishop that was exposed by their own pawn and not by the opponents pawn.

To put it more clearer to you. The bishop got bursted by the pawn he has no control over. Instead of calling the king that has control over him to prevail on him, he chose to go at it himself and in doing so the pawn exposed the whole government. This same pawn that has been an "enemy" within and without is still spared and instead the bishop gets the chop and yet you claim Magu is a pawn.

You claim it was to appease the Senate yet the Senate president came out to tell them to name the owner(fall guy) and they mentioned Oke who has little or no significant importance to the Senate leadership.

Guy your conspiracy theory raised more question than answers. There are better ways to do cover-up in government than dropping someone that "important". There are still more questions than I can type. Not everyone here is half brained and gullible like your wailing believers.

Your postulation holds no water though admire your intelligence it's borne out of bias. You 're saying Saraki and co decided Lawal's fate, Buhari cannot allow Saraki run the show why? Tinubu has the ear of Buhari and I can assure you Buhari isn't coming back 2019 he will put forward Osinbajo and that's Tinubu's boy thru and thru. Oke was a victim of intense politicking he rather cried cuz he is messed up at the end of his tenure.

You are just typing complete nonsense.

Oke is not part of the political struggle. He is retiring and has no stake in the government.

The Presidency doesn't want to axe Magu for any reason, even going as far as saying they'd go to the Supreme Court if the Senate insists. Oke is retiring in August. Osinbajo practically gave Magu his vote of confidence days before Magu's bust, so it makes no sense to do a 360 when they're keeping him for reasons that are not immediately apparent.

You should be asking why Lawal is being suspended when he had no direct involvement with the Oke case? And why it took the Oke case to prompt them to do an investigation on Lawal when he had been cleared in January and there were no pending investigations on Lawal. All of a sudden imaginary monies are being discovered without owners, then NIA's money is discovered, and next thing new evidence just surfaced about the SGF.

It is politics. For all your knowledge of chess, you are still too dumb because you are partisan.

In fact, let me not get deep, believe what you want. The opinion of a dumb person does not affect me in anyway.
