I hope you also are aware that there are other religious script that have been ignored by those that compiled the bible. In some of these scripts there are numerous statements that are contrary to what we Christians believe... So because it has religious content or context does dat mean it should be considered a reputable source to base religion on?
those that study theology in depth are not all pastors. they are called religious scholars. As a matter of fact, religious scholars and pastors are not always on the same train. Have you not heard of epistles or gospels that depict jesus as a common man? that say jesus was married to magdalene? that say jesus had a child? if i should consider all these texts wouldnt my belief be controversial and religion in a turmoil?
