SuperSport for years has been the official broadcast sponsor of the NPFL which is organised by the LMC.



Cable sports channel SuperSport has pulled out of the deal with organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) due to alleged breach of contract.
SuperSport for years has been the official broadcast sponsor of the NPFL which is organised by the League Management Company (LMC).


Just less than a year to the end of the deal, the TV station has pulled out of the deal.

According to SuperSport, the termination was as a result of a breach of contract on the part of the LMC.

Caroline Oghuma, the Public Relations officer of DSTV could not reveal how the LMC breached the contract of their deal.

“It was terminated due to a breach of contract, that’s the official position of the company on this matter,” Oghuma told Pulse Sports.


The General Manager of SuperSport West Africa Felix Awogu also told Pulse Sport that the company have spent an average of N6b annually for the last nine years for both broadcast right and production.

All efforts to know how the LMC breached the contract was not successful as SuperSport insist that it is on the LMC part to reveal that information.

Chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko could not be reached for further information.

Are we a caused country? Why can't we create a Satellite TV that will remove the dominance of DSTV in Football Broadcast? Remove football from DSTV and it us like every other television.

Nonsense! how many matches do they show per weekend? compare to the number of EPL matches they show live, the only beam matches that are played in the major cities and Lagos axis, they should go to H**l

with this one, Ojoro go come reach another level for the league, even the one we are seeing on T.V , uncalled penalty and offside go will resume fully.
DSTV no pull out of the country because of the different breach in the economy as they are making money from it but can pull out from this because they are spending money.

Do you need to do a roof parapet, or you are building on a water logged land. Try to reduce your building load with the use of polystyrene material.

Am not surprised.
This is a big blow to Nigeria league.

super sports showing Kenyan, SA, Zimbabwe leagues to Nigeria and dump our league.


Well we have to start thinking inwardly.
Adenuga, Dokpesi and others who are into communication business should help Nigerians.
This is a gray area for good business.

We have tolerated a lot from DSTV.
