Oh,so now they write but it's patched and apparently sometimes they don't take clinical exams in a clinical course..

Guy shun my posts. If u can't say the truth then there's no use bandying words with u. A dentist was always telling me his course of study was Medicine until a whistle blower exposed him. When I brought that analogy here all the dentists claimed it was OK to say his course of study of Medicine. That's when I know that truth is now a difficult commodity. Because a Doctor finished gross anatomy it is now ok for him to say his course of study is Anatomy or physiology.

U dont need to ask why the south east is backward. Na dem dey do themselves, its a shame.

The foolish south east set ridiculous standards for their own and make their own fail, while the south west cleverly allow the students to sail through somehow or the other. At the end of the day, more south western doctors flood the industry whereas south eastern's are still struggling to graduate and many of them even completely fail out. Who won, who loss? Who has the more doctors and who doesnt? This same doctors will gain more place in the health sector while the south east are still striving to graduate.

I remember once I got to owerri airport about 40mins to departure. I was looking at the plane and people were still boarding. They had just made the second boarding announcement and a certain hungry looking official told us (like half the number of passengers in that flight) that we are late and cant make it. He insisted on this and actually kept everybody there till that plane left, some said they have been there for about 1hr. I had travelled extensively and was shocked this is happening in a very local airport. Never experienced it in Lagos and the idiot was quoting all manner of aviation T&Cs. I just smh and said no wonder these people are backward.

Wicknedness has become a reproach to the south east and you see it everywhere once you land there even in their movies. Everything is a struggle and tight, nothing flows like the southwest, not even money. The attitude is like I must do you strong thing, everybody dey change am for themselves, no easiness, no chill, no love. Whereas for southwest na chop make I chop and everybody is happy. Southwest I hail una scatter!

Then they start to shout IPOB everywhere after destroying themselves by themselves. Its a big shame, I have studied in the east and i have studied in the west, this observation is clear.
i'm igbo and thats true, everything you said, they are the ones making life difficult for themselves,

I reserve the right to comment on your post if AND when I want, especially when I know your comments are obviously prejudiced..
Like I said your comments shows an INNATE bitterness towards Dentists and Doctors which being in the Health field can only be attributed to the hatred and jealousy of anyone with Dr. in his name by other health professionals..
A Dentist in the Federal Republic Of Nigeria is recognized by the government as a Medical Doctor, that's why he has the Dr in his name and that's why he gets sworn in under the same Oath as his general medical colleauges and that's why he belongs to the NMA and that's why his Specialist exams are moderated by the West African College Of Surgeons and that's why he gets the same emoluments under the Civil service as his general medical colleauges,if you don't like it sue the Federal Government..#CE'ST FINI?

One thing with medicine is if you enter through magomago, you will be weeded out.
If you're not good enough, enter with fake results, or someone wrote your jamb/waec for you or you enter fraudulently, mist times, you will be picked up and thrown out.
No hard feelings.
Medicine doesn't need fantastically brilliant students, they just need 50% from you, no more, no less.
If you get 49.9%, I sorry for you o

Don't be surprised most of the people who entered through fraudulent means are the ones failing about. It doesn't mean UNN professors are wicked, or whatever. It just means the students were not good enough.

So it's OK for a dentistry student to tell me his is studying medicine and surgery? And the same government wen advertising say they require medical doctors and dental officers. And the government parastatal is called medical and dental council. They should have said they require medical doctors or also just called it Nigerian medical council since u are quoting a none existent law to back ur being in a far lesser course. NMA is not a government institution and there is even dental association of Nigeria but they prefer to hide under NMA because they are an insignificant few and their voices will be muscled up if they stay alone speak the truth only.

There are reasons why certain laws and rules are put in place, and violations of such rules always comes with consequences. The consequences may not be immediate, but it will surely come and bring sorrows to it.
All those houses collapsing on people, electrocutions was because violations of certain rules made because of some people's greed, or I don't care attitude.
Health and safety rules aren't taken seriously in Nigeria, because both the govt to enforce such, and even the populace don't care and can't be bothered.
Anyway, I digress.
Medical schools in Nigeria are still one of the few ones that have managed to maintain a little sanity in the midst of all the chaos and breakdown in all sectors of the country- education, health, power n electricity etc.
If the people that failed were worthy, they wouldn't have failed

The standard of marking is never the same..

Do you know that in some schools, the first year students there write Mathematics (which is not proper) and in some schools too, it doesn't exist.

I can only agree that this is pure wickedness. They just want to show that they're the best university with high standard of learning. It's rubbish..

But quote me anywhere, if OAU students are given the opportunity to write UNN MB exams, you'll see mass failure. Even the person with distinctions may not survive it. I keep asking myself; is it not the same topic, courses and same exam that's being conducted nationwide or are there medical students that write different thing.

Our Educational sector is in total shamble. The way they suffer students here eeh, it's alarming at a very high frequency. It's very obnoxious and barbaric.

just go to overseas and see how they treat medical students. Infact, as from 300l or less, medical students are expected to assist Surgeons in the theater but here; who born monkey..

I want categorically condemn the person who said OAU medicine withdraw and fail many students like UNN.

Pls be informed properly that OAU Medicine released her result for First MBChB result which is sane as UNN 2nd MBBS result.

Compare and contrast.

Be informed that the OAU medicine Result is PASS WITH DISTINCTION, PASS,RESIT,REPEAT AND WITHDRAW based on the 50% pass in the Three Pre-Clinical course. Resit means a Student will write an exam of a single Pre-clinical course he failed and repeat is based on failing the two preclinical course and withdraw is failing three of the pre-clinical courses or repeating a class again and failing two out if three of the exams while UNN medicine is based on PASS,FAIL AND DISQUALIFIED on various Per-Clinical courses.

Ur name tell who u are. The treatment prowess of a doctor is not even dependent on where he studied but more on his housejob, service years and the experience he has gathered. A freshly out of University doctor with provisional licence is a liability to himself, his sponsors and his country, but once he has nevigated the course of each specialty during housejob he is fit to manage basic primary to secondary ailments. Medical school is only a test of patience and character, medicine itself is mentorship and apprenticeship. I once saw a East trained doctor prescribing tetracycline for diarrhoea I laughed internally because without housejob Nnamdi was still a liability.
