Give him a slap on the wrist and let him go please. Even the doctor that killed a whole Micheal Jackson got only 2 years as he was carrying out the orders "they" gave him.

SMH!!! The doctor may just be innocent. Why not show us a copy of d prescription lets see if it was an overdose or not. They are trying to cook up stories here.

Very wrong.

You can blame poor working conditions, lack of adequate facilities and 9ja factor/culture. All these things affect all facets of a national life too.
9ja factor includes short cuts/not adhering to rules/code of conduct, poor law enforcement, etc.

9ja trained medics do very well abroad. Simply because they know the consequences of flouting rules, working condition are better, adequate working tools are available, etc.

The average 9ja doc has well above average medical knowledge by most standards. You clearly see that when 9ja docs take part in training students & young medics abroad. They are very sound and well-respected by fellow brilliant docs like Indian & Pakistani docs. By Western docs of course too.

Ignorance pervades this entire country.

Have Nigerians never heard of heart attacks before ?

Every man over 45 and every woman over 55 are potential victims of heart attacks.
Heart attacks kill more than 1 million Americans every year, and I say probably the same number or more in Nigeria every year.

One's risks of heart attack increases with age, increases the more overweight for physically inactive you are, if you have high blood pressure, if you smoke , have high cholesterol levels or eat high cholesterol foods, are diabetic or have a family history of heart Ailments.

If the deceased had a medical history that included any of the above, there is no reason to suspect anything other than natural causes for his death.

Clearly the earlier leg pains were the classic symptoms of an impending heart attack. If the doctor or hospital lacked the proper diagnostic tools to see the early warnings, then no should blame the individual doctor.

I have no doubts that the doctor treated him to the best of abilities and with the tools and health information available to him.

Nigerians should step up to the 21st century and do away with primitive ignorance. It's not enough to ride the latest cars from Japan, USA or Germany and sport the latest technological gadgets from silicon valley, then pretend to be civilized.
We must think and act like the people that produce these technological marvels that we enjoy and pose with evey day.
