Hii car gurus.. So. On sats I wanted to go out with my car. Honda accord 2000 v4.. I started the car.. And it started.. But after some minutes.. It went off.. And has since then.. Refused to start.. It cranks.. But wunt start.. And.. All the lights that shows at start up on dashboard shows except check engine light.. I called a rewire who checked the fuses and said they are still OK.. So I surfed the net.. And was told it cud be fuel pump or fuel pump relay.. However... The rewire said he wud get me someone well versed and more knowledgeable than him to check... Gazzuzz.. Nurey.. Kingreign.. Ikenna351... ZIMDRILL. . And other car gurus. Pls help oo... To enter public transport tire me ooo..

I just called a rewire mech.. And he checked and said it's brain box. But am having doubts... Wud seek a second opinion.. And u gurus opinions.

the check engine light on the dash before startup is more of a POST. power on self test. if it is not lighting up, there is a discontinuity between the brainbox and the entire engine.

nb it is not fuel pump.
check fuses and RELAYS
ones to look out for are efi fuse, ign and the sort. if u r diy I could help u with the troubleshooting. ..
but do not change anything fuel related until after u have eliminated the bridged brain box connector. cause its the brain box that commands the fuel pump to pump fuel

woa... I love your analysis... That's great bro... Not wonder the second rewire I called said it's from the brain box. Cos he tried to scan and it displayed error on his scanner.. I would also get him to check the relays.. But All fuses have been checked.. And confirmed OK.. Thanks a lot Bro...

uwc, but I emphasize again in the need to check fuses and RELAYS. let the tech confirm that the efi relay is powered, else the same issue will persist even after changing brainbox so before u start throwing parts.... confirm both.

confirm also that ur pgmfi fuse in the fusebox panel is OK.

I've had this kind of experience with 2005 Honda Accord EOD that I almost programmed a new key for it.

Op, does ur green key symbol keep flashing while trying to start the car? If so then it's the same that happened to me. All lights come on except check engine light. Mechanic told me key has lost memory with ecu bla bla. At the 3nd of the day it ended up being a bad fuse from the fuse box in the engine compartment. I think it's EFI fuse (I've forgotten). The fuse looked good but on a closer look found out it wasn't, cost me just N100 to change the fuse and the car came back alive. Check any fuse that has to do with ecu.

As long as your check engine light doesn't come up on first ignition under a normal circumstance where it hasn't been blinded by our lovely kazeems then that car would never start. Pop up your hood open up your fuse box look underneath the cover and trace the fuse that aligns with the diagram for the check engine on the fuse box . Bring out the fuse check for a broken link inside or use a multimeter and check for continuity. If its fine go inside your carjust below the left hand underneath the steering column. Check the same check engine light fuse. You could have it labelled as PGMFI. If all fuse is intact. Check all grounds to make sure you don't have a short somewhere. I do not think the ecu has got a relay on your particular honda model. I could be wrong though. Also there is a black long stretch of fuse inside your fuse box (engine compartment) just like a 4 in 1. Look at that closely to be sure there is no broken fuse there. I hope this helps

By Honda design ,PGMFI relay is everything for Honda .It powers the ECU ,the injector and the fuel pumps just like what ASD relay does for Jeeps and Dodges.
First check this main relay first before any other thing.
secondly ,look out for the underhood fuse 46 (15A ) that supplies the PGMFI relay.
Lastly check the grounds !!!

point of correction ,there is nothing like efi fuse in Honda .EFI fuse can only be found in the Toyota.

There is nothing like PGMFI fuse also !!!
all these are jsut clue to what your technician will concentrate on cos I don't advice DIY on electrical so that you won't blow ECU ,give the job to a competent technician to do troubleshooting for u and resolve .

Greetings gurus. Pls recently my car (toyota camry pencil light automatic) broke down and refused to move. On putting it on drive or reverse, it makes a clanking sound. my mechanic said it was the gearbox, which I changed immediately. But after changing the gearbox, I have noticed the car refuses to accelerate beyond 80km /hr. I was told to clean d gearbox filter which I have done bt no improvement. Wat could be the problem? Ur advice really needed.
