A new trend is ongoing on micro-blogging platform, Twitter, with a caption asking for the whereabouts of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The trend which started yesterday is still gaining momentum as at the time of publishing this report.

Yesterday, Universally, was celebrated as Workers Day. In Nigeria the celebration did not go down well in some quarters. In Abuja, the country’s minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, was disrupted while trying to address workers. He was later whisked away by security officials who prevented the visibly angry workers from linching on him. The workers demanded that their President must be the one to address them. The workers, who claimed to have been deceived on many occasions by Ngige, approached the podium and disallowed further proceedings, warning that they would only listen to the president they voted for in 2015, especially as he had promised to help cushion the sufferings of millions of Nigerian workers.

The scenario, took an uncontrollable twist when former Labour leader Adams Oshiomhole, who is also the immediate past governor of Edo State also mounted the podium to test his popularity thinking it was the solution to calm the aggrieved and disenchanted workers. He was, however, met with stiffer opposition as the chanting crowd assured him of a showdown.

In Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, hoodlums violently disrupted a rally organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) forcing participants to flee.

In Kogi, workers were heard lamenting that they where being owed fifteen months salary. However the chief of staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Edward Onoja was caught on phone pumping his chest that workers where being owed twelve months salary and not fifteen months as speculated.

Below are some reactions of Nigerians online asking for the whereabout of their leader.
