Chelsea are two points ahead of Manchester United and a further two in front of the high-flying Gunners, who have a game in hand, while their hosts occupy the 19th spot in the Barclays Premier League, tied on points with the two teams above them in the table, West Ham and Bolton Wanderers.
The league leaders will be without the services of their African quartet - Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel, who will be competing in the African Cup of Nations starting in a few days, and that will surely stretch the London Club to the limit in their quest for the title. In spite of the depth that Chelsea posses in their squad, the absence of prolific scorer Drogba, who has netted 19 goals this season (in all competitions), will be a big miss. Daniel Sturridge who scored his first goals for the club en route to his brace against Watford looks set to start up front in attack. The Frenchman, Nicolas Anelka is suffering from a hamstring injury and his participation at the K C Stadium is in doubt. The loss of both their holding mid-fielders, Essien and Mikel will definitely make Ancelotti re-think his diamond and a 4-3-3 formation looks very likely against Hull, with Florent Malouda and Joe Cole occupying the wings.

Hull City are staring relegation in the face yet again as they prepare to host Chelsea at the KC stadium.
Things aren't looking too bright presently; with the untimely injury to their inspirational midfielder Jimmy Bullard and loss in form of their Brazilian veteran, Geovanni has hit the men in black and amber stripes hard. With Geovanni also picking up an injury in their FA Cup tie against Wigan, the probability of Hull's victory looks very bleak.
Hull have performed miserably against the top six clubs in the Premier League with an average of 0.17 points in 6 matches so far this season. When they hosted Manchester United during the Christmas period, the Champions were stretched as the Tigers gave a spirited performance at the K C Stadium. And come Saturday, the home crowd would be hoping for nothing less against the Table Toppers.

Match will be on Hitv - HiSoccer.

Its so frustrating that the game has been called off
Re: Hull City Vs Chelsea On Saturday 9th Jan; 1.45pm Nig Time(Postponed) by nateevs(m): 1:37pm On Jan 09, 2010
It is not in our favour that the match is postponed. If Arsenal win their match and then go ahead to play the game in hand against Bolton and win before ours is re-scheduled. They will go 2 point ahead.

That's a psychological advantage. It's in our interest that we play this match and win it before they play theirs against Bolton. Crank up the pressure on them as they have an avalanche of high profile games lining up. .

I hear say Hull begin fear, they beg the ref to postpone the match.
Re: Hull City Vs Chelsea On Saturday 9th Jan; 1.45pm Nig Time(Postponed) by kizi: 9:13pm On Jan 09, 2010
So far the EPL remains the same after the games btw: Birmingham City 1 Vs Man Utd 1 and Arsenal 2 Vs Everton 2, at least Chelsea is still on top EPL table.
Damn the weather really affected most matches today (snow snow go away grin grin )
Re: Hull City Vs Chelsea On Saturday 9th Jan; 1.45pm Nig Time(Postponed) by mikeoscar: 4:09am On Jan 10, 2010
We should win this and stay 4 points clear over MANU and 6 points over Arsenal hopefully.

If we can keep still and win the next couple of games outright then some confidence will return irrespective of what happens to MANU and Gunners.
