Not every person has data to burn on videos. E.g i'm browsing this on N100 data bundle. So ... U xclude potential prospects.
2) pidgin isnt a very robust language. It's not capable of expressing certain concepts clearly from english. So,the learner still has to b fluent in english to get along with tutorials like ths. Defeating d purpose in d first place but other languages like russian, chinese, japanese, german dont hav these limitations.
E.g, one of ur topics is "data types"- and anoda has "closures", anoda will talk on "promises". Pidgin has no concept of data! But english has! Pidgin has d concept of "type" i.e "kine" - "which kine food u get ". What about "statement". Such a concept doesnt exist in pidgin! You can work around these limits with copious analogies but ... It would b clear tht the pidgin speaker has to cross over and learn english if he wants to really learn.

Very interesting viewpoints! I do agree with you to a great extent. I understand that internet is very limited and still expensive in Nigeria, thereby, "xclude potential prospects" (Lets hope that this will change soon). It is true that Pidgin is not a robust langauge, but I am using pidgin because that is what we, majority of Nigerians communicate with, and it is closer to our natural langauge. All non English speaking countries (like Germany, Russia, Finland, France, China...etc) also have great programmers who dont speak any English.

Guy, this your concept make brain wella. Nor let anybody discourage you.

I dey feel you. Abeg if you fit still do Python pidgin tutorial e go make mega sense.

Even though one can write and speak good English. Doing a tutorial in a language many people communicate with casually helps drive the points home. Especially difficult concepts.

I'm at sea when it comes to things like file handling, classes, regular expressions in python.

I assume that listening to it in pidgin will help a lot.

There are world-class Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Russian programmers, that don't understand a word in English.
There are others that understand English but prefer to code and communicate in their native languages.

Pidgin just helps drive home the points as I said earlier, I don't think it will make anybody illiterate like some guys are insinuating.

I appreciate your efforts. Carry go. nothing do you at all.
