Art of cultivation of land, growing of crops and the rearing of animal for man's use, It is the natural and first employment endowed to man since creation.
It is no news that it provides the bulk of employment in Nigeria informal jobs which comprises mostly of part time jobs and large scale under employment scenarios
Diversification is used to describe the actions, talks and persuasions to individuals, groups or
create alternative stream of income through agric business.
Ever since I'had been a young in age , diversification as a "Word" has been around, Successive
Governments have advocated it . Why have our economy not been diversified? Despite the droves of new entrants to agriculture!! Truth is:
1. Agriculture is not like every other business where you start reaping profits immediately.
2. Agriculture is a business of hope.
3. Agriculture has a gestation period before it starts yielding benefits.
4. Agriculture will never make you rich! Will not make you Super rich but will make you
comfortable and fullfilled.
5. Agriculture will not lift Nigeria out of recession or makes its economy better off.
What will?? Agric business will!!!!
So long as Agricultural activity continues to be limited to Crop and Livestock Production; it will fail to lift Nigeria out of its economic woos and reduce POVERTY!
What is agriculture? ??
Agric business emcompasses a wide range of activities that generate economic value,
It involves farming, all other industries and services that usually connects farmers to consumers.
It involves broadly
1. Input Suppliers
2. Agro processors
3. Traders
4. Exporters
5. Retailers
Therefore, the real value in DIVERSIFICATION of the economy lies in tapping abundantly from the following.
Agricultural Input Industry: This specialised industry increases productivity of all other
segments, Invest heavily in this industry and watch the Economy take a LEAP. Inshort you will
heeding to the call to diversification by investing in this sector.

Financing, Marketing, distribution and other service firms
Storage,Transport,Ict and Packaging materials and design for better marketing and distribution.
What is the real diversification of economy??
It simply mean rather than joining the band wagon of small scale producers with its attendant
challenges, Take the real leap and diversify persa by VENTURING into the afforementioned
segments and reap good investment.
ROI of 60% or -80%-or 200% more as the case might be depending on your management skill in Farm term investment.
Real diversification & Value addition Value addition refers to the addition of value to
preliminary agricultural products by combining them with other resources such as tools,
manpower, knowledge, skills, other raw materials or other preliminary products.

PROJECT TARGET
(1) PLANTAIN
It can make you a multimillionaire within a year and keeps generating money for you up to 20years if well maintained, The revenue after the first year keeps coming in multiple fold year in year out, One plant can produce two or more suckers which bear fruit after the harvest of the parent plant it regenerate itself , in plantain farming there is no need of re-cultivating the land after the first cultivation, When I have to lift one of the bunch with both hands because of the heavy weight. It goes for #700 above in local markets, You just overshot half a million naira if you are able to have 1000 pieces of those selling at #700 plantain bunch, After the first harvest, the next harvest will be less than a year with multiple harvests as more suckers are produced.
(2) CASSAVA
Many individuals investors and entrepreneur dont give cassava a priority. This is because Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava in the world, is not only limited to the reason but also because cassava has broad usage in which it can be put to, Cassava is also a profitable crop one can venture into, Demand for cassava is also on high side in recent years due to the fact that it is used in making fufu, garri, flour,Chipps, and starch etc with many companies springing up to also take advantage of government policies requiring baking and agro-processing flour companies to include 25% of cassava flour into their production,One ton of cassava sold some years back for #4,000 to #6000 is now being for between #15,000 to #25,000 depend on market valved.
NOTED: Serious Minded investors are needed to partner with in running this project in large quantity to supply Cassava Flour Mall companies with good % profit turn over under 14months processing Harvesting.
(3) BEANS
Beans is the third most consumed food stuff in Nigeria and other West African countries after Rice and Cassava. Sadly, most of the beans we eat in this country are from Niger Republic, putting money and employment into the hands of the neighboring country when our own soil is even better for Beans farming. So why exactly are we not much into beans farming in Nigeria despite the huge demand in consumption?, Experience has shown that lands in the south east and south west Nigeria are extremely good for beans farming. I wonder why some men and women prefer to keep wandering around Lagos, prefer to roast corns and plantains at the bus stops in Lagos when opportunity is wasting away in the villages. What exactly are they looking for?, Why neglect the opportunities God has given you and keep looking for what he has not assigned to you? No pastor, no amount of night virgil will put money in your pocket if you have not worked for it. God can only bless your hard work if it is properly channeled, not lack of it! Beans farming in Nigeria is one of the means you can properly channel your hard work, As a legume, beans is one of the easiest source of protein for the family and every family eats it, both rich and poor. No culture or religion that forbids beans in Nigeria and it can be prepared in so many forms, making it one of the most versatile food staple in Nigeria. When you engage in the farming of food that is highly in demand as beans, you are sure of creating wealth. So, this how it goes-
A 100kg bag of beans is currently sold for #27,000 and there is even time of the year the price used to go as high as N36,000 above like when the new beans is yet to come out. Let’s assume you have 100 bags of beans right now and sell for #27,000, You would be making #27,000 x 100 = #2,700,000.
(4) PINEAPPLE
Pineapple farming in Nigeria is another sure money makin machine, Thousands of fruit juices are made with pineapple and the makers of fruit juice are always on the look out for pineapple farm where they could buy their raw material. Go to mile 12 market or any market near you or even the fruit sellers near you and try to price pineapple. Then you will realize that pineapple is edible gold, One head of pineapple is sold for #150 to #250 in the local market while the same head of pineapple goes for #300 to #400 in the fruit shops. For wholesale farmers, they sell for #100 above, Lets assume you harvested 100,000 pineapples and decided to sell for just #100 above for wholesale, you will make a whooping #7 million, deducted cost of production, labour, and transportation with #2.5m, you will have #4million as pure profit. And once they starts producing, they can fruit for the next 10 years if well maintained, Now you see what I am talking about? If you are thinking of a profitable farming business to start in the country, then think no more, pineapple is the current money spinner. This sweet fruit also known as “ANANAS COSMOSUS” is as sweet as the profit it can generate.
(5) CASHEW
Cashew is one of the unexploited perennial crop in this country, it is the best and most profitable of all the crops such as Palm Oil and cocoa, It is not just easier to establish, the cost of setting up a cashew farm is low when compared to other perennial crops with low risks involved, Setting up a cashew farm is fast, low cost and easier to manage, It does not require starting with some numbers of acres before profit is made compare to other perennial crops, It is not necessary you set up a processing unit before you make money compared to oil palm or Cocoa. The return on investment is the highest compare to others, South West in Oyo and Osun has the best cashew nut in sub-Sahara Africa due to suitable weather conditions and also attracts highest price premium. This is the reason our 5 of acres of cashew farmland are strategically located in oko Oyo state and Egbedore area osun state and have also acquired 1000s acres of land as high influx of investors and agro-preneurs for cashew farming are increasing.
NOTED: Serious Minded investors are needed to partner with in running this project in large quantity
(6) TOMATOES AND PEPPERS
The market is always there for tomatoes in Nigeria. Why not? A product that is consumed by close to 200 million people, no amount you produced that will ever going to be enough. In 2012, Nigeria imported 65,809 tonnes of processed Tomato that worth over #11.7 Billion. That was in addition to the massive tonnes produced locally in the North. Tomatoes alone takes out over #100 billion annually from Nigerians, What exactly are Nigerians doing that a whooping amount of #11.7 billion has to go to other countries economy for a product that does very well in almost every Nigerian soil? This is a question we need to ask ourselves as we prepare for this year’s farming season, If you have #2million and you invest it in tomatoes and pepper farming this season, you will double that investment within some months harvesting period because Tomatoes and Pepper are quick money making machine under 3 months planting done for harvesting and easy to sell for buck buyers and companies.
NOTED: Serious Minded investors are needed to partner with in running this project in large quantity deal with companies buck buyers and local bulk market sellers here in Nigeria.
(7) WATERMELON , CABBAGE & CUCUMBER
Are among the best fruits recommended for people that wish to loose weight; and with the high rate of overweight or obesity related issues, and other numerous health benefits watermelon offers to the body, the demand for watermelon has sky rocked over the years, Starting a watermelon farming business can yield massive profits as you can cultivate and harvest three batches of watermelon fruits in a year. For this article, I will discuss why you should invest in watermelon farming, and how you can start your own watermelon farm in no time, planting and harvest processing under 45 to 85days.
(cool COW, GOAT & SHEEP REARING
Are one of the most rewarding animal rearing business anyone can engage in anywhere in the world, meats are widely accepted and consumed round the globe, while the milk is also gaining in popularity and is being sold in supermarkets across the United States, Europe and Asia and represent the bulk of the liquid milk market, Here in Nigeria, the goat milk is still not yet widely consumed because farmers are not yet taking advantage of the opportunity. Would you be the farmer to make this happen? The meat is believed to be the best animal meat available anywhere in the market for good reasons. Not only does the meat taste great, it is also lower in fat than chicken but contains higher protein than beef, that makes it better than chicken and beef, Goat meat has a unique taste that is very difficult to describe but very appealing to the taste bud. There are other products that can be derived from Meats milk such as cheese, yogurt, ice cream, and butter. Anything that cow milk can offer, goat milk can also offer. These are the reasons goat farming is considered by wise farmers as a very lucrative business and it is increasingly becoming very popular among modern farmers in Nigeria, Opportunities In Goat Farming All Over The World.
(9) PIG REARING
Pig farming also known as piggery is another aspect of farming in Nigeria that is making smart investors and entrepreneurs huge money on daily basis. If you are into this pig farming, you sure wouldn’t lack money again for the rest of your life. The reason is because Pig meet is in high demand in Nigeria and sells very very fast in the market. Another reason is that Pig reproduce in large number and grows very fast, A single pig gives birth to as much as 15 piglets at a time, making it one of the most reproducing livestock in the world, Baby pigs is known as shoat, farrow or piglet. Male pig is referred to as the boar while female is sows. As a group they are called a herd or drove, Despite the huge profitability of Piggery, many Nigerian are still overlooking this goldmine because of ignorance of how it works. While some don’t just get the fact that it is a big business – many who engage in it do it as part time business but if you can engage in this business fully, you are sure going to smile to the bank very soon, A fully grown Pig goes for as high as #35,000 depending on the weight. Now Imagine for a year you are able to rear hundred to maturity, you will be making #3.5 Million from the sale, If you can take it higher – lets say like 2,000 pigs in year, you will be making over #60 Million, Considering how fast pigs reproduces, it wouldn’t be a very much big deal to come up with 100 pigs in a year.

Most Important Skills You Need To Succeed As A NewBie In Farming Business
I remember during the earlier years of starting farming business, they were lots of naysayer and negative people around me, Some friends wanted to discourage me just because i want to be a farmer, they said to my face ‘ a whole graduate want to farm in the village, Are you degrading or upgrading yourself’? Then I didn’t give them an answer then but they know right now that i have upgraded.
Even when i get to the village, i met some local farmers, middlemen/women that told me my face and hand looks like somebody that should be sitting inside an office but i believe farming business is not in the body parts but something deeper than that (your passion, your love). I have been writing this article for hours now,Not minding a stressful yesterday just to make sure you start something and succeed on the way, Thats the huge sacrifice i can make when it comes to my passion.
My father also gave very little support, because he has done cocoa business before and seen some good results but was not in total support, the plan he had for me was not what I was following, Sometimes, the journey is a lonely journey. i am still grateful for the little support
I ask for some funds from him to acquire some farmlands then, he was very sceptical that he gave me some me like 1/4 of the money I will be needing. In his mind, he will be like ‘lets even see what this boy we make of this ‘
He called me last month about his new inspiration for farming , i said ‘daddy, at what age, let we the young generation continue from where you stopped’.
My people always say’ you can only work what that worked’.
The first skill to succeed in your farming business is to surround yourself with positive people that have worked it out successfully in the industry and work in the path and be far (as heaven is far from the earth) from negative people.
This kind of people are very scarce, you are good to go (the business of farming is a lonely business) I received numerous calls and messages, something like Can you help us setup and manage cocoa plantation, poultry farm? Can you setup catfish farm? Do you have contact of where i can sell my Goat? Do you have moringa plantation? Can you consult for us in Moringa cultivation?
All of the time my answer is NO, Most newbie want to do everything at the same time.
This is not because of the knowledge, i know little about them, i can do fish farm, rear goat at my backyard, but the question is ‘Do i have what it takes (large markets, contacts, experience) to commercially manage them profitably.
Whenever i hear people say that they are into fish, cattle, goat, cassava, oil palm, i know they don’t know what they are doing, I don’t want to be master of all trade, master of none and failure of all, The skill you need is to be focus on your few crops and master everything about them.
We focus on crops like:::: Cassava, Maize, Pineapple, Plantain, Tomatoe and Pepper, Moringa, Ginger, Cocoa and Cashew etc
We have the knowledge, vast experience in their cultivation and how to profitably managed them, Some people complain that its not working because they devote limited resources to different crop, they want to cultivate watermelon, cassava, tomato, etc. it does work that way leave Farm business set up for Farmers, we manage for you till harvesting marketable period to smiles to your bank.
The skill to have is selling/marketing. Selling/marketing is vast, i have written an article on how to profitably sell your agro-products, If you know how to produce but not how to sell, you will be discouraged because this is where you recouped your investment with profit, My advice in this aspect is to Produce what the sales wouldn’t have to be determined by the fluctuations of supply and demand in the local market, Kindly like my page and share to your friends and families and don’t forget that anything you need, lands, agricultural inputs such as tractor for sales and rent, managing agric business Consultancy and good hybrid seedlings seeds and suckers.

How To Boost Nigerian Economy Through Agriculture
According to Wikipedia, agriculture is the cultivation of animals, plants and fungi for food, fiber, biofuel, medicinal plants and other products used to sustain and enhance human life. It is important therefore to work towards boosting the Nigerian economy through agriculture, Nigeria is a nation that depends solely on crude oil to drive its economy. Nigeria has been having it good economically until recently, due to the crash of oil price globally and no thanks to the resumed hostilities in the Niger Delta region which has immensely and adversely affected Nigeria’s economy, To say it simply, Nigeria can no longer depend solely on oil to survive economically. Nigeria must as a matter of urgency diversify its economy for its survival and agriculture readily comes to mind to answer the question of diversification, Before the discovery of crude oil, Nigeria was basically operating an agrarian economy, which involved the cultivation and exportation of cash crops like cocoa, groundnut, palm oil, etc. It is now high time Nigeria got back to agriculture for economic sustainability. As Anietie Udoema once said, “you cannot change a winning formula.” If agriculture sustained Nigeria in the past, it can equally sustain Nigeria now.”
Important Reasons Why Nigeria Must Embrace Agriculture
Nigeria stands to gain a lot if particular if urgent attention is paid to agricultural development, According to Wikipedia, agriculture is a vital industry in China, employing over 350 million farmers, According to Chief Audu Ogbe, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN), as published by The Guardian Newspaper of February 13 2016, Nigeria spends a whopping of over $20b on food importation yearly and National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria reported that agriculture’s contribution to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product(GDP), decreased from #4.5b in the fourth quarter of 2015 to #3.2b in the first quarter of 2016, The above therefore implies that Nigeria loses so much in food importation and generates so little economically with regards to agriculture, Other reasons are:-
1. Employment opportunity.
2. Food security.
3. Economic sustainability.
Practical Ways To Boost Nigerian Economy Through Agriculture
1. The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has farms across the 36 states of Nigeria, which is managed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development should undertake a national survey and tour of the FGN farms and publish the addresses of the farms.
2. The FGN through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development should employ youths into the Federal farms to cultivate the farms, The employees should be paid as civil servants, However, they must be supervised and monitored to make sure work is done.
3. Offices should be built on the farm where full administrative and supervisory work takes place.
4. Ranches, piggeries, poultries, etc should be built on the farms and animal and crop farming will be going on simultaneously.
5. Markets should be built on the farms so that harvested farm produce can be sold immediately without the stress of transportation and other inconveniences.
6. The farmlands or shops in the market could be leased or rented to as many as are interested.
7. Food storage should be a top priority of the government, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as President established 7 silos for the storage of food, One of the silos which is located in the Sheda Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is 100,000 metric tonnes silo and is reputed to be the largest in West Africa, More silos can still be built, Every farm should have storage facilities.
8. Public Private Partnership should be encouraged, Government should bring in investors.
9. Farmers and investors should be encouraged by favorable policies, tax rebates or tax holidays, etc.
10. Agricultural Science or agricultural studies as the case may be should be introduced into the education curriculum as a compulsory subject or course from nursery or elementary to tertiary institutions. Every Nigerian students at any levels must learn about farming and own a farm while in school, At the tertiary level, the FGN can get a clue from Landmark University, Omu Aran, Kwara State, which ‘Agrarian Revolution’ as its mission. Conclusively, according to the words of Allan Savoy, “without agriculture, it is not possible to have a city, stock market, banks, university, churches etc, Agriculture is the foundation of any civilization in any stable economy nations, let back to farm our great Nigeria Youth to empowered ourself out of recession economy terms..
God bless Nigeria.

Re: How Profitable Is Farming Business In Nigeria by ecurrencies2017: 3:59am On May 15, 2017
In Nigeria today, agriculture is the next area where you can make more money of your investment and wealth directly at the backyard of your office, State of Osun become one of the farming central in South West Nigeria today in empower youth and individual interested co farmers in communities areas. Therefore, in Osun state presently, you get more than enough LAND to buy for farming at #150,0000 above /Acre or for building Houses, Hotels, Estates, e.t.c. at #300,000 above/Acre depend on location.
Farming which is the most essential part or aspect of agriculture will be advisably and encouraging talked about, because without farming, there must be a famine in all communities zone in the world. Also the research for the past one year reveals that, all local farmers made a lot of money.
Farming involves buying of a LAND for yourself which is advisable at a very cheap price like #150,000/Acre or getting the LAND through leasing #6,000/Acre for a year with renewable term agreement. We manage the FARM LAND for you depending on the types of crops or tuber you may like to plant with company seal agreement.
The types of crops that are advisable to plant are; Plantain, Corn and Cassava, depending on how you can go along with the breakdown of the cost analysis involved for the planting of each of them.

COST ANALYSIS INVOLVED FOR THE PLANTING OF PLANTAIN PER ACRE
Purchase of land #150,000/acre or Lease #6,000/acre yearly.
Land preparation #15,000
750 suckers @ #100 each #75,000
Planting of sucker @ #50 each #50,000
Animal waste as fertilizer #50,000
Application #20,000
1st – 3th weeding #32,000
Managing fees #45,000/year
Miscellaneous #13,000
The maturity date duration is 9 months In a year after the maturity date, it could be harvested two times yearly, A stand could produce at least 2 bunches and 1 bunch is sold @ #600 minimum, Land lease or Buying not included be NOTED.
Therefore, #600x2 =#1,200 for 2 bunches.
#1,200x 700 standing minimum growing up suckers = #840,000.
Also, one stand can produce 4 suckers round itself which could be sold @ #100 each in the same one year to other farmers.
Therefore, #100x4 = #400 for 4 suckers.
#400x 700 stands = #280,000
So, the total output for one year after maturity date = #840,000+#280,000 = #1,120,000
The most beautiful and achievable thing in planting plantain is that, the production of the 1st year can double that of the 2nd year. Therefore, you can easily get double of your output for the 1st year in the 2nd year, and it continues like that. Also it is a permanent investment.

COST ANALYSIS INVOLVED FOR THE PLANTING OF CORN PER ACRE
Land lease/year #6,000
Land preparation cleaing #15,000
1st and 2nd plough #10,000
Seedling (seed for planting) #3,000
Planting labour fees #3,000
1 bag of fertilizer @ N8,500/bag
Application labour fees #3,000
Weeding Habicides bottle 2 @ #1,800 each = #3,600
Application fees #3,000
Management expenses fees till harvesting period #10,000
Harvesting Labour Fees #8,000
Total Fianance expenses = # 73,100
The duration period for corn to harvest is 90 to 140days, 2 tones of corn at least is assured to get on 1 Acre and a tone is sold @ #80,000 depend on season
Therefore #80,000x2 = #160,000 for 2 tones which is the total output.

Top 10 Lucrative Farming In Nigeria
1. Cassava Farming -The popularity of cassava as the major source of food for Nigerians dates back to ages. Between Garri and Rice, it’s hard to tell which one is the most popular as both are the most consumed food staples among the citizens — I think if one is the King the other should be the Queen, A bag of Garri costs almost the same as a bag of rice, and apart from garri, there are tens of other food stuffs that are processed from Cassava in Nigeria. The introduction of the high yield species of Cassava has made it possible for Nigerian Cassava Farmers to produce more Cassava per plot, Nearly every land in Nigeria is good for growing Cassava in Hectares, If well properly planted and managed can produce Millions of Naira worth of Cassava Stems and tubers in a year!
2. Rice Farming – Nigeria has one of the world’s highest Rice consumption state, Rice is by far one of the most popular stable food among Nigerians, almost every family eats rice daily in Nigeria. In 2011 alone, Nigeria spent N991 Billion on Rice importation and the rice we import is said to be nothing less than 10 years old in storage. That means we spends billions buying Rice that has since lost it’s nutritional values.
Any entrepreneur in Nigeria who goes into Rice Farming and get it right is sure to be smiling to the bank. A bag of Rice is currently sold for #15,000 above depending on the quality and location. A farmer who is able to invest in large scale Rice Farming in Nigeria and produced 100,000 Bags of processed Rice in a year, sell at wholesale price of about #10,000 per bag, he will be making 10,000 x 100,000 = #1,000,000,000 imagine eas way to become Billionaire.
You can achieve the above figures conveniently with less than Three hundred million Naira (#300,000,000) capital investment! I’m currently looking for who to partner with in this. If you have the cash, I have the logistics and good plannings to achieve that. Serious investors only!
3. Plantain Plantation – One thing I like about Plantain is that when planted once, it keeps producing year in year out for eternity. Like Rice and Garri, Plantain is widely consumed in Nigeria and you know — any food that is popular in Nigeria is always a huge income earner due to the population of the country.
I really haven’t seen Farmers in Nigeria taking advantage of the opportunity in Plantain Farming to create wealth for themselves. Plantain is highly priced in Nigeria and is always in high demand all year round. Fry it, Boil it, Roast it — it will never get angry with you, that’s how liberal Plantain is. I can tell you, Millions of Naira is currently lying fallow untapped in this sector of Farming in Nigeria.
4. Beans Farming – A bag of Beans costs twice more than a bag of Rice and garri the Northern Nigerians are making it big in Beans Farming, supplying almost all over Nigeria and beyond. But one thing is that, this same Beans also can do very well in the South East, South West, and South South Nigeria soils. So why only the North?
5. Pineapple Farming – Money is sweet, everything sweet is money, and Pineapple is sweet. Ask any Australian Farmer and he will tell you how huge the income in Pineapple Farming is in their country. Any juice maker that doesn’t have Pineapple flavor variety in his product line is not yet in business. That tells you how popular Pineapple is, not only in Nigeria but Worldwide, Nigeria seems to have better soil for Pineapple Farming than Australia where Farmers are making it big in the business. A Pineapple sells in Mile-12 market in Lagos for about #200 above — If you are able to harvest one million in a year, you will earn Millions every harvest season.
6. Poultry Farming – Everyone knows how ‘Cashy’ this one is, it doesn’t need much introduction and yet it’s still not fully tapped. What we currently have are few badly managed, scantily equipped poultry farms here and there. I’m yet to see a full fledged, high tech Poultry Farm as it is in The USA and Europe except Obasanjo’s Farm which I don’t think is currently in serious business, Any serious entrepreneur who is able to fire this up will have huge profit to contend with. The reason is because Nigerians eat chicken more than snakes do and 70% of our consumption still based on importation. The egg is yet another goldmine!
7. Goat Rearing – It’s only in the North that goat is reared in commercial quantity. I don’t know why we are so looking down on Farming Investment in the South even though there are millions to be made in this business. Why would you chose to sell used shoes in Oshodi and make few thousands of Naira yearly than to engage in productive Farm Business and make millions of Naira, in USA and Australia, Farmers are among the Richest people – Get involved in professional goat rearing and make money for yourself. A full grown goat sells for between #12,000 to #25,000.
8. Catfish Farming – Catfish Business is really hyping in Nigeria right now but how many are really getting it right? Get it right and you’re in money. A single Catfish sells for #1,000 above in Restaurants and about #600 above in open market.
9. Snail Farming – I see Snail Farming really picking up in Nigeria very soon — but if you don’t hurry up, others would have made the money before you realize what you are missing. The potential in this business for you is about #50,000,000 Annual revenue.
10. Maize Farming – You never know the profit in Maize Farming in Nigeria until you try it, and one thing I like about it is that everything happens fast. It takes less than Four months between planting and harvesting.
I talk more on Cocoa, Palm Tree, Cashew, Moringa and Ginger farming how lucrative to smile always to your bank.
Stand up is to Get involved in any of these Farming and you will never regret it, Drop us a comment if you are in support of Farming Business in Nigeria!
NOTE: Serious minded investors can be provided with more detailed information and technical assistance in setting up this project.

How to Become Palm Oil bulk buyer and Seller in Nigeria
Are you a retiree? Do you have idle cash lying in your bank account and you are looking for a means to earn extra income? Then below is an in-depth guide on how to make money buying and selling palm oil, When most people hear that palm oil business is very lucrative, they quickly dismiss the idea of taking a plunge because starting up a palm oil processing company requires much more capital than they can ever afford, But the truth is that you too can tap from the opportunities in the palm oil business without necessarily having to set up your own processing company or starting a palm plantation. How? You can achieve this by buying and selling palm oil for profits. In fact, you can make millions just by buying, storing, and reselling palm oil. One of Nigeria’s billionaires, Orji Uzor Kalu started out in business as a palm oil trader and he made millions from this business, before I discuss the steps involved in buying and selling palm oil for profit, let me enlighten you about the commodity and its marketability. (I am assuming you do not know anything about it before now. Pardon me if you already did).
Reasons Why You Should Start Trading Palm Oil for Profits
Palm oil is a natural extract from the red palm fruit. It is orange or yellowish red in color, and it is widely produced in West African countries and in Far East countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia. In these countries, it is widely consumed by the natives, and it is also exported to neighboring countries.
Palm oil owes its huge demand in countries such as Nigeria and Malaysia in part to its huge population and health benefits. Palm oil is a good source of vitamin E, which promotes healthy skin. It is also rich in carotene, which enhances vision. And most importantly, unlike most other oils, it doesn’t promote the accumulation cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins that are harmful to the body, Another reason why palm oil sells well in the above-mentioned countries is its relative cheapness when compared with other edible oil, and its relatively long shelf life. With proper storage, palm oil can last up to one year without losing its quality.
In Nigeria and other West African countries, virtually every household cooks with palm oil. So, you can imagine how much profit you can make from the market in these countries, With the above in mind, let’s now discuss how the business of buying and selling palm oil works. It goes without saying that this business simply involves buying palm oil and selling palm oil, but there are two methodologies of running this business; and you are free to choose any of the two or even combine both.
Choosing your palm oil business model
The first model involves buying the commodity, adding some margin, and selling to the next available buyer. Though you won’t make huge profits with this model, you will make smaller profits on a consistent basis. The downside of this model is that you may be badly hit by sharp drops in the price of the commodity, which happen occasionally. But there are two sides to this possibility; you can make huge profits during occasional price surges as well.
The second model involves buying during the time of the year when the commodity is abundant, and selling only when it becomes scarce. Usually, in Nigeria, l (because it is abundant during that time of the year).
So, if you buy 1000 liters of palm oil when it’s cheap, and sell it when the prices go up, you can make between 100% to 200% profit or even more depending on the scarcity and on your location within Nigeria. It’s the same story in other countries where there is huge demand for palm oil.
In Nigeria, a 25liters of palm oil brought for #5,000 – #7,000 during the abundant season (depending on your location) in 2016, During the scarcity period, that same 25 liter can goes for #15,000 – #22,000 interval of 4months, palm oil can be sourced at a cheap price in places such as Edo, Delta, akwa Ibom and some local area, in western Yoruba zone best storage facility in Oil is State of Osun palm oil poducers doing good indeed and resold at a profitable price in places such as Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, Abuja, etc. Most times, traders recorded huge profits by adopting the second model, but it usually requires larger capital than the first model, Having explained the methods of running a palm oil trading business, let’s now discuss the steps involved in starting the business.
How to Start Buying and Selling Palm Oil for Profits
1. Get your storage space
You will need to secure some pace for storing your palm oil, regardless of the business model you choose to adopt. If you have some storage space right in your home, that would guarantee rest of mind. But it would be better to have your storage space close to where your customers are. So, renting a shop near a local market around you is a very smart idea. In Nigeria, palm oil is best stored in big blue drums / barrels, in a cool place away from direct sunlight, It takes about 6– 8 (25liters) gallons to fill a barrel.
2. Arrange with suppliers
Aside customers, your business needs suppliers to thrive, since you are not processing the commodity yourself. Try to find suppliers that produce high quality palm oil. You may need to conduct thorough research before making your choice because the success of your business would hinge largely on the quality of the palm oil you get from your supplier. From personal experience, i can say that good palm oil can be sourced from Osun, Ekiti, Ondon state in places such as sound in good storage terms with years duation to store it with risk free etc.
3. Decide on transport arrangements
You would need to transport your palm oil from the supplier’s location to your shop or storage location. And in some cases, you would need to transport palm oil to your customers as well. (In fact, you can make more money by charging extra for delivery. Buyers would readily pay for the convenience), Most times, palm oil are best transported in gallons and if you are transporting from Eastern Nigeria to either the Western or Northern part of the country, you can use the services of popular transport companies such as The Young Shall Grow Motors, G.U.O Motors, Cross Country etc. If you have a van or truck to yourself, that would be fine. But if you don’t have one, you would need to hire one each time you need to transport your commodity.
4. Market and sell your product
To make profit, you need to find buyers for your product. You would easily attract them if you offer high quality palm oil for unbeatable prices. Depending on your chosen model, you can choose to sell your commodity to the next available buyer, or wait until prices go up before selling from September to January.

SUREWAY TO GET FINANCE FOR YOUR FARMING BUSINESS
For over years, there have been advocate to finance agriculture, to increase budget allocated to agriculture especially in developing economy. Grants, loans and aids for agriculture has been released by both government and international community, but the impact are not being felt by real farmers on the field. I strongly believe Lack of proper monitoring system is the cause but that’s just for another day, So, how do you finance your agribusiness when it seems cash is difficult to access.
Days of my humble beginnings have been mired with lack of access to resources to do farming business, when I discover that all the money I could gather was not enough, I had to find a way, Most of the time, we think until we are able to access a million dollar from investor before we start, and you wait and wait until your dream dies.
I was able to negotiate for 1hectares of free land from land owners and laborers on a profit sharing and payment after harvest. This is not a rocket science, met with land owners, village heads, chiefs e.t.c, sold my vision, how it will benefit them, and negotiated a non-financial win-win deals. They bought the idea and were happy to deal with me.
To succeed in negotiating, you need to create an environment of trust, be trustworthy and always do what you say, I have seen smart newbie agropreneur lease poultry pen for free, got the owner of the pen to be part of the business at a win-win profit sharing rate. Just last month, they expanded the poultry with the reinvested profit. Why cant you lease a pen and pay when you have sold your products. Its impossible and difficult when you sit at home and think miracle will happen to you. I have used this strategy over and over, again to get to where I wanted to be. As an agropreneur, you need to develop this negotiating skills, investment opportunity for agropreneurs which is like a subsidy for farmers with little resources.
Secondly, through Cooperative and Associations. I have seen many lives changed by pulling together funds, ideas and resources, My first profit came from the farm cooperative me and my friends started back in the days, I will rather be a small part of bigger thing than be a big part of nothing. its a good place to horn your skills and knowledge about farming, That’s why we started a practical training in Oyo, Ogun and Osun state, participant are admitted into cooperative to help them groom their skills and be able to pull their resources together, I got calls and email messages everyday from people asking ‘I am interested in agribusiness, how do I start?’ The best way to start is to get practical training to acquire real time experience and knowledge, Agricbusiness is more than going to the internet to read and trying to establish what you have read in real life, its the sure way of wasting your hard earned money, join international farming organisation and be active (networking with influencer), I will talk on that another day. A family friend who is also into agriculture is in India as I write, was sponsored by an agriculture international organisation and that platform has enabled him to raise over $50,000 from investors.
Join, like and follow farming groups page on facebook, twitter and other social media e.t.c to access some of the information on agriculture scholarship and sponsorship.

Thank you for such handy information. This is really wonderful. I observed that there is no costs of weeding and harvesting in your costs analyses. Is there a reason for that?

ecurrencies2017:

Stand up to Get involved in any of these Farming and you will never regret it, Drop us a comment if you are in support of Farming Business in Nigeria!
