Have you ever ask yourself this question,that why is Easter celebration always Sunday? Am very sure if your birthday last year date happened to be Sunday, it can not be Sunday this year. But Easter is fixed. The only bible on the surface on the earth that has the word Easter in it, is the King James Version of the bible. Acts12:1-4. history tells us that the name “Easter” comes from the Anglo-Saxon, Eostre, the name of the goddess of spring. But here is another verse that tackled that in the bible. Read carefully and ask yourself what is the miracle of prophet Jonah? He didn't die in the belly of the big fish for three days and three night. Jesus was crucified on Friday afternoon, from that Friday afternoon to Saturday morning is one night, the Friday was not a complete day. Then from Saturday to Sunday morning is a whole day and another night. We have two night and one day. This is not what Jesus said. The nights and days are meant to be three days and three nights. But Jesus said :Mathew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. If you are celebrating a day like this, it is not part of the teaching of Jesus. Is 100% idol worship Please feel free to share more light to this because we all know Jesus was not the first sent down to deliver God message. Abraham, Moses, Noah, Jonah, Solomon, David,Daniel all came with their own books passing the same message that God is one. How come is only Jesus that was captured just like that by the Jews. The book of Luke:4:10-11. Oga , whateva day U want to celebrate d death and resurrection of Christ is totally up to U. Christians have chosen wen to MARK AND CELEBRATE dat. D essence of marking it is to remind us of his sacrifice and not to kip d records .. D message of easter is what is important. It becomes a problem if anything other dan d death and resurrection of Christ is done during d period which to d best of my knowledge there isn't. Are u asked to offer sacrifices and make any enchantments to anything in dat period? Jesus did not ask us to mark his birthday nd remembrance but christians do it to remind demselves of dat sacrifice of death on d cross. There are is a lot of evidence for Christ's crucifixion even from outside the Bible by historians and writers who were alive at the time of the even 1. Thallus (52AD) Thallus is perhaps the earliest secular writer to mention Jesus and he is so ancient his writings don’t even exist anymore. But Julius Africanus, writing around 221AD does quote Thallus who previously tried to explain away the darkness occurring at Jesus’ crucifixion: “On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness Thallus, in the third book of his History, calls, as appears to me without reason, an eclipse of the sun.” (Julius Africanus, Chronography, 18:1) If only more of Thallus’ record could be found, we might find more confirmation of Jesus’ crucifixion. But there are some things we can conclude from this account:Jesus lived, He was crucified, and there was an earthquake and darkness at the point of His crucifixion. 2. Tacitus (56 to 120AD) Cornelius Tacitus was known for his analysis and examination of historical documents and is among the most trusted of ancient historians. He was a senator under Emperor Vespasian and was also proconsul of Asia. In his “Annals’ of 116AD, he describes Emperor Nero’s response to the great fire in Rome and Nero’s claim that the Christians were to blame: “Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.” Interestingly in this account, Tacitus confirms several historical elements of the Biblical narrative: Jesus lived in Judea, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, and had followers who were persecuted for their faith in Christ. 3. Mara Bar Serapion(70AD) Sometime after 70AD, a Syrian philosopher named Mara BarSerapion, writing to encourage his son, compared the life and persecution of Jesus with that of other philosophers who were persecuted for their ideas. The fact Jesus is known to be a real person with this kind of influence is important. Mara Bar Serapion actually refers to Jesus as the THE WISE KING, even though he himself was not a Christian! Mara Bar Serapion wrote: “What benefit did the Athenians obtain by putting Socrates to death? Famine and plague came upon them as judgment for their crime. Or, the people of Samos for burning Pythagoras? In one moment their country was covered with sand. Or the Jews by murdering their wise king?…After that their kingdom was abolished. God rightly avenged these men…The wise king…Lived on in the teachings he enacted.” From this account, we can add to our understanding of Jesus: He was a wise and influential man who died for His beliefs. The Jewish leadership was somehow responsible for Jesus’ death. Jesus’ followers adopted His beliefs and lived their lives accordingly. Radarada... Immediately Jesus was crucified, the day turned to night for several hours (from noon to 3pm) making it the first night. The second night was the normal Friday night while the 3rd night was Saturday night. It will be better you all accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour before it becomes too late.
