Suicide bombers have attacked the
University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) for the
second time in a week.
Two bomb explosions rocked the
university premises on Thursday night.
The first the explosion was heard at about
11:00pm while another bomber
detonated at about 12am.
Abu Hanifa Babati, the student union
government president, confirmed the
attacks.
The first attack, he said, “occurred around
the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, after
the bomber detonated the bomb before
being accosted by soldiers”.
He said the second explosion occurred
around a female hostel called BOT.
Babati said that the students were rattled
by the explosion.
Victor Isuku, the spokesperson of the
Borno police command, has also
confirmed the attack on the university.
“On 18/5/2017 at about 2350hrs, three
male suicide bombers with IEDs strapped
to their bodies, gained entry into the
premises of university of Maiduguri,” he
said in a statement.
“In an attempt to enter the female hostels,
they were intercepted by security
operatives. One of the bombers hurriedly
detonated his IED vest, killing himself
instantly.
“The other two bombers detonated their
near a contruction site also within the
proximity of the University premises,
killing themselves alone. Three university
security personnel reported injured.”
Isuku said the scene of the attacks have
been visited by EOD personnel and that
normalcy has been restored.
Blazegist was able to gather thatThe attack comes five days after twin
bomb blasts went off in the university. A
security guard was killed while a soldier
was injured in that attack.

If this is anything to go by then I will suggest the school be shut down until the safety of students are reassured

yesterday was another scary day, they keep postponing our exams cos of jamb...we now sleep with one eye open

This is not a good thing...the best thing to do is to keep praying for Maiduguri...that there must be peace in that land

The North is their own problem, why will they sacrifice the safety of the region on the alter of religion.

Why do they love their jihab more that the life of their people.

I thought that by now, they will suspend wearing of these useless jihabs worn only by the poor while the Muslim elites dresses gorgeously.

Ideological wars are not won by guns send tanks but by only superior ideologies.

As long as the North put religion ahead common sense, this will continue. Ban Hijab and see a decline of this. Abolish Almajiri and BH will be a thing of the past.
