I don't understand.. dir Is dis lady i met 2 years ago nd smthg popped up btw us.. we strted dating sinc last year. I am a yoruba she is an Igbo gal.. now we are about stepping things up.. I'm Igbo. I hate such events and I entirely hold the girl responsible, though I understand her point. Since, the Igbo has a generalised disposition that the Yorubas don't like them, and that Yorubas are promiscuous, tending mostly to polygamy. All you need to prove to the girl's parents is that you truly love her and you are a faithful man. However, I will advise you visit her home and get more into a heart-to-heart talk with her father (don't be scared of any defenses and acts he puts up to keep u away, in fact, request for a two-aside time with him) and find out why he is against you. If you find out (It's most likely a preconceived notion), work to disprove his theory. Make sure to buy fruits anytime you visit. I'm going through same thing but I HAVE RESOLVED TO FIGHT FOR THE LADY I LOVE, knowing fully well that she and her parents have the wrong knowledge of whom an Igbo man truly is 9 Likes |

TimmyPapa, I will strongly advise you to quit the relationship with immediate effect. A broken relationship is better than a broken marriage/home. There is nothing you will do that will make her family to change their perceptive and i want you to know that it required more than LOVE to stay in a marriage. Leave their daughter for them now and get yourself another lady because if anything should happened to their daughter you will regret coming to this world. My bitter advise. I know of an Igbo man who got married to a Yoruba woman, they have three kids together as husband and wife. They loved each other somuch, I lived with them for 2yrs somewhere in Abuja. But what bothers me is their extended families, her inlaws never like her, they frustrate her to an extent that she had to go back to her parent's house @d age of above forty yrs old. We keep saying one Nigeria but our parents never agreed to that by kicking against inter-marriages. God help us. 4 Likes |
