Liverpool will be joined by FOUR fellow English sides in the
Champions League next season after Manchester United
lifted the Europa League against Ajax.
Jose Mourinho oversaw a 2-0 victory over the Dutch giants in Stockholm to confirm his side's place in the 2016/17
competition, gaining automatic qualification to the group
stage.

Jurgen Klopp's men, who qualified by virtue of finishing
fourth, will represent the Premier League with United, as well as Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City.
Liverpool would not be able to face United in the group stages however - providing the Reds navigate their qualifier sucessfully - with Jose Mourinho's side country protected.
That means they will represent England in the tournament
and cannot be drawn against another English side - a
different scenario to when holders Liverpool, without country protection, drew Chelsea in the group stages of the 2005/06 competition.
United's win changes little for Liverpool's path to the
Champions League group stage, with the Reds remaining
seeded.
Ajax will take their initial place in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
The Eredivisie side will join Liverpool as one of the seeded
sides in the fourth qualifying round if they progress.
Victory for the Amsterdam club would have seen them move
into the group stages automatically, with Nice becoming the
sixth side guaranteed to be in the final non-champions play-off round - along with Liverpool - in August.
Instead, the Ligue 1 club must progress from the third
qualifying round, with a win seeing them as a possible
opponent to the Reds at the play-off stage.
