Rauf Aregbesola was born on May 25th 1957

Rauf Aregbesola worked at Nigeria External Telecommunications Limited and Lagos Airport Hotel.
Later he founded his own company, an Engineering firm, Aurora Nigeria Ltd.

Rauf Aregbesola have held the position of the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development in Lagos.

In the year 2007, Rauf Aregbesola contested for governorship in Osun State and won the election. Even though he was not declared the winner of the election by the independent National Electoral Commission, The Election Appeal Tribunal on November 26, 2010 declared him the winner of the election, leading to his being sworn-in as the governor of Osun State.

On August 9, 2014, Rauf Aregbesola was returned as the Governor of Osun State for another term of four years.

Eminent Nigerians today, converged on the De- Distinguished Event Centre, Iwo Road, Osogbo to attend a colloquium organised to mark 60th birthday of Osun state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.

Amiloaded correspondent gathered that Leading royal fathers in the state to the event was Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, while Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi also attended the event.

Chief James Faleke, represented Asiwaju Bola Tinubu while Senate Chief Whip, Prof Sola Adeyeye, Health Minister, Prof Isaac Adewole were also present at the event.

The difference between him n Fayose is dat while dey are both controversial, Aregbe has developed his state in a way it has never witnessed b4. Apart from sentiments, wat he has done in roads n education can only b defeated by lagos n perhaps Ogun in d south-west.
