A man who worked with others to kidnap his father has been arrested.

The suspect was paraded by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, along with others on Wednesday.

Mr. Odude said that the kidnapping of the suspect’s father took place at Igboora in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area on May 17 at about 6 p.m.

“The suspect said he got a share of less than N1 million in the ransom collected although he confessed that his father never offended him,” he said.

He said that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation was completed.

Similarly, six suspects said to be involved in the kidnapping of popular Ibadan-based oil magnate and Chief Executive Officer of Bovas Oil and Gas Limited were also paraded.

Items recovered from the suspects included firearms, nine vehicles, one motorcycle, N1.2 million, musical instruments, knife and phones.

This is another parable of the prodigal son.
I hope the father would not sympathetically close d case..
The son should face d law.
He must have been kidnapping others.

A 20-year-old Ibrahim Babatunde who conspired with other members of his gang to kidnap his own father, Alhaji Aliyu Babatunde, was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Abiodun Odude, at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan yesterday.

The incident occurred on May 17, 2017 in Igbo-ora, in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of the state.

He confessed that he got less than N1m from the ransom collected, even though he said his father never offended him.

The commissioner also paraded a serving soldier, Corporal Sikiru Balogun, and a police inspector, Herbert Mbachu, for allegedly hijacking fuel-laden trucks on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and other parts of Ibadan. The suspects were among 38 others paraded yesterday.

He said 17 suspects were arrested for armed robbery, four for kidnapping, nine for truck hijacking, three for cultism, among others.

This is the type of a son that the father has done everything possible for him to have a better life and become something in future but he still went the wrong way.
Thank God they did not kill the man.
