In movie set of gathering of council of traditional rulers depicting culture of eastern part of Nigeria, a drunk is always seen and portrayed as one with words of wisdom.

My question is, why is there always a drunk. Is it true in the eastern setting or is it just for the movie, and why are they always filled with wisdom.

There must always be one eye with clean hands seeing all activities and that would never be a normal man nor a mad man, it must be a drunkard that hovers the town daily looking for d happening zone

But meetings of council of traditional rulers

You know some families have their titles which must be given to the next person in line, his choice of life might not rob him off his title and once he is a titled man, automatically he must be at meeting to spit his poo

Not in all cases and not in all movies.dont forget that some scenes are made to add humours while others are there to show reality.

In the cases where they are used in a movie, it is always portrayed as a norm. They do respect their suggestions.

Not necessarily a norm as seen but to add humour and brings reality. There's every tendency that it happens in reality but not in all cases, so the writer wants the viewer to picture himself inside the movie. Secondly such scenes are for a short while
