The Afenifere Renewal Group on Tuesday attributed the renewed crisis in Jos to the leadership vacuum created by President Umaru Yar’Adua who travelled out of the country for treatment since November 23, 2009.

ARG said its position was based on the fact that if the President, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was in the country, he would have taken charge and dealt with the situation.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, ARG said the crisis had brought to the fore, the desires of those tiny cabal who are currently manipulating the leadership of the nation by not allowing the Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan to be made acting President.
