The setup fee for interswitch webpay is too high compare to other online payment solution. With this rate small site that would like to offer local online payment is being pushed aside. This is a great setback towards ecommerce development in this country.

What do you guys think, do u think i wont gain even if they reduce to 10-20k ?
Since they still charge 1.5% on every transaction i think money will still role in has they are guarantee payment while their merchants make sales.

How do we get them to reduce this cost, ?

What is interswitch? Is it like Nigerian Paypal? Is it an online payment system with which you can pay with cards or do you still have to deposit money at a bank offline?

@naijacutee

It’s more or less like the Nigerian version of Visa and Mastercard. Interswitch issues you a physical card which you can use to withdraw from any of their ATM Machines Nationwide. It can also be used for online payments, so you can pay for products and services in Nigeria right now from the comfort of your home. The coolest part about interswitch is that they have a working relationship with most Nigeria Banks, so any payment you make is deducted from your bank account in realtime.

Quite a number of websites are already accepting Interswitch. Sites like:

Buyright.biz
Prepaidnigeria.com
Rechargenigeria.com
Shopforless.com

morning all
well istrongly believe that the set up free should be reduced well who are the governing bodys concerned like we have NCC and thing got a little better in the GSM sector though they are still reeping us up in mean the GSM opeartor ALL THIS "KALOKALO" SEND A TEXT WIN MONEY well that by the way side

Back to Interswitch who is the rugulating body how can we push our concern to the govenment platform

wel lets start asking questions onless they just want to limit to the top dogs in the business when web developers are just slaving away to all the hard code work.

i know to own a domicilary account cost less now eg to run pay for stuff online with more ease DEBIT CARD and thats at an international platform so let s push the competetion back t o them

its a good development but its not yet targeted to the average Nigeria on the street that why i ask lets starts asking questions.

have a nice day
