As a way of discouraging kidnapping in the state, the lagos state government should demolish this house and every other property owned and used by this kidnappers.

Death penalty is only for someone that has killed another human. It would be too harsh to sentence someone to death if he hasn't killed anyone.

Even attempted murder in Nigeria (where the victim escapes and survives) doesn't invoked the death penalty in a lot of cases.

If Evans did not have any death on his hand then it would have been life imprisonment according to the Lagos kidnap law.

The life of a Hundred kidnappers, is not worth the life of one innocent man or child.

Once you kidnap someone and ask for Ransom, it should be Death Penalty once you are caught. SIMPLE

I have used "ask for ransom", to exclude cases of say for example, two parents fighting over their child and one of them decides to pick the child without the consent of the other parent.
