Title: Engineering Design, Drafting & Modeling
Overview: the course is design for student to have in depth knowledge to Engineering design and Procurement
• Introduction to AutoCAD 2d Toolbar
• Application of Tools bar( draw, modify, object snap, Properties, Status, Command)
• Setting AutoCAD drawing Limits
• Using AutoCAD tools to draw circles, Polygon, Eclipse, Rectangle etc
• Modifying AutoCAD outline( using Trim, Extend, copy, move, break etc)
• Introduction to Isometric drawing
• Drawing, dimensioning and editing Isometric drawing
• Introduction to AUTOCAD 3D
• AutoCAD 3D Tools( Solid Editing, View, Modeling, View Style)
• Creating solid object with AutoCAD 3d tools
• Using the Extrude, Sweep, Revolve, Loft, 3D Rotate tools
• Rendering of Solid objects

•Basic theory of seismic reflection prospecting method in oil and gas.

•Loading of 3D seismic reflection data, making Surfaces & Horizon

3. PIPING DESIGN & DRAFTING (PDMS)

•Introduction to Plant Equipments type
•Application of PDMS in Equipment design (Vessels, Pumps, Tanks, Reboiler,
Fractionating columns.
•Taking coordinate/Equipments position from plant plan drawing (GAD)
•Using the Primitive method to design Equipments
•Modification/ sizing of Primitives (Cylinder, Nozzles, Manhole)
•Application of PDMS in piping components design/Fittings (Elbows, Tee, Flange,
Gasket) etc

5. PIPING & INSTRUMNETATION DESIGN/DIAGRAM (P&ID)

COURSE MODULE:
• Introduction to P&ID workspace
• P&ID Tools Palette
• Creating a New P&ID Project
• Inserting Equipments (Vessels, Tanks, Heat Exchanger, Columns, Pumps) into P&ID Work space
• Connecting Equipments together with Process line
• Assigning Tags to Equipments and Specification to process lines
• Placing control instruments to process lines, Equipments and on control valves
• Checking for Errors by running validation
