There are those who used to be Christians but are now living in sin. Will they still make heaven if they die in that state? undecided
Do you know them ?
How sure are you that they were Christians ?
Is it because they say they are or they do what Christians do

They will surely make heaven if they get restored to the faith before death. See the example of David in Psalm 51.
Yes but we didn't read anything like that in the Bible. Especially for Solomon.

Since we cannot be so sure either way is the reason we have to stay with what the Scripture says and not extrapolate. smiley

Where is it written in the Bible that they went to hell?

The Scriptures named Samson and Moses as heroes of faith in the book of Hebrews. Jesus commended Solomon's wisdom as unrivaled until Christ. That should be enough to tell me that they made heaven. smiley

Good. Meaning they made Heaven though they died after sinning.

Backsliding doesn't mean you have lost your salvation. It only means you are not matured enough to know who you are in Christ. Thus, you find it difficult to live as a Christian.

Salvation is not lost.
Jesus said no one can take pluck His own from His hands.
Christians are citizens of Heaven.
We are cealed with the Holy Spirit.
We are given eternal life.
The gift of Salvation is irrevocable.
Go and read my first reply to the op. You will understand better.
so, does it mean, we can't lose our salvation? Enlighten me further..

come to think of it,if a believer wont make heaven just because he or she commits a sin shortly before the trumpet sounds, then we are all in trouble, you know at times we err, though genuinely born of God......if the former remains,it then appears to be a random selection, something like,''i was just lucky not to have committed a sin before the trumpet sounded'' and vice versa.

1. Salvation is not what a person works for.
Salvation is a GIFT from God.

2. For the Christian to lose his salvation then he has to be:
Un-born again
Un-redeemed
Un-justified
Separated from the love of God
God's seal of guarantee removed
God's FREE GIFT withdrawn
Un-etc, etc.

3. If a sin- free life is NECESSARY for salvation, AND that can only be known when a person lives "sin-free" at the point of death, then NOBODY can truly say he is "SAVED" yet and perhaps not really until in eternity.

4. Since sin is "whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it" James 2:10 THEN even ONE SIN disqualifies anyone from claiming a sin-free life.

5. In other words, a person who fails to KEEP one single command of God is GUILTY of sin.

6. SIN is not just murder, adultery, lying, and obvious sins that people usually look at. SIN is both a nature and exists even in thought - "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matt. 5:28.

7. For example, how many Christians can HONESTLY CLAIM to obey Philippians 2: 3-4 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

8. How many Christians "value others above" themselves?
How many Christians look to "the interests of the others"?
How many can SINCERELY answer in the affirmative to these two questions? And these are God's instructions for the Christian.

9. So ANY CHRISTIAN who thinks he qualifies for eternity with God because he lived a sin-free life must be PERFECT!

10. Salvation is therefore either a GIFT through and through or else impossible for man to work for.

Mr Oladeegbu has seen that Salvation from sin can only be by grace but his pride and commitment to deeper life "church" would not let him accept the truth.

Taking no sides is taking a side against God. undecided

YES, IT'S VERY POSSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS.
*there are phrases like 'falling away' 'leaving the path of righteousness' 'draw back unto perdition' etc., repeatedly in the Bible.
*You were asked to watch (what are you watching, if not salvation? Why should you watch what can not be stolen?)
*The Bible urged you to strive to make your election sure.

Please, don't let New Generation Grace preachers deceive you. Salvation can be lost.

Wow! Brilliant, but we as Christians need to exercise self control as we journey in the narrow way.

Saying none of the Disciples was saved won't be correct sir. What makes a man saved is the Holy Spirit in them and the Apostles, all 12 of them had Him, hence, them healing the sick, casting out devils, and raising the dead even when the Master was still with them.

If you say no disciple was saved, i can agree, but the Apostles were and Judas was an Apostle, not just a disciple.

Tell me one thing today's Christians are partakers of that Judas didn't partake of. Nothing. They may not have carried the presence of Jesus with them where ever they went because Christ was still with them in the flesh, nevertheless, they were empowered to do what even today's Christians can't do.

Judas was saved sir.
No sir/ma.. Prior to the cross nobody was saved. I repeat, nobody was saved until after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus christ.

Yea,if you are referring to the church as the body of christ, there ought not to be a true of fake body of christ, but in terms of buildings and activities, there may be fake churches.
Secondly, you are either a christian or not,you are either building or scattering, just like the two sides of a coin. You are either christ-like or you're not.Like my Pastor always says, there is no neutrality in belonging. You have to understand that christianity is not in answering the name,it is in being like christ.

Yes, but not all of them.

Thank God that you can now see that some people got saved during Christ's earthly ministry unlike others here who believe to the contrary.

"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven" (Luke 10:20).

If Jesus said His Apostles and disciples' names were written in heaven and as a result it was a far greater miracle than casting out demons, who are you to say they were not saved? Have you even experienced the miraculous signs that accompanied them during their evangelical mission? undecided
