The problem with this article is that it seeks to moralise the dubious act of the Nigeria police force.

The question is what reason does the police have in stopping the vehicle? There must be a reason for a police officer to pull a car aside off the road and ask to see the trunk!

Only in Nigeria do you have police standing on the highway pulling cars randomly hoping to find an expired vehicle paper or personal effects with no receipts. That is witch-hunting and abuse of police powers.

The stop and search routine of the Nigeria police force that has become normal in Nigeria is nothing but harassment and intimidation of motorists in the hopes of looking for bribe money.

No where else in the world do police just start stopping cars for search without a reason. The Nigeria police do not mind looking stupid and foolish in pursuit of bribe and extortion.

Something is definitely wrong with this country. We were coming back from home just yesterday and the police stopped us. My guy was asked to show his papers, he gave them.

While they were still holding it, they asked him us him to come out of his car. He asked why, and they start pointing gun and threatening to beat him up. He was forced to do everything because somehow, they've observed he is just a common man.

Now, here is someone who has given every reason to be beaten and dragged outa that car for asoulting and using faul language against an officer on duty. They're only pleading with him to open booth. Giving him that VIP consideration in the line of duty. Which means even if he had human head in that car, it wouldn't have mattered.

And you say the rich and poor are equal before the law. That is a fat lie. Even rich criminal like Evans aren't given same treatment with other regular kidnappers. All caught kidnappers were paraded sitting on the ground with their shirts removed and their weapons before them.

Evans was given a chair to sit on and the liberty to talk to press people.

U have failed to make a reasonable comment here so far as i am concerned. That a particular Police Officer who may have lost his manners handled ur case badly and u are now advocating that everyone be treated the way that Police officer treated you. That is quite irrational.

Watch that video again and you will see that the Police Sergeant is very professional even at the face of intimidation from the S/A and his Oga in the office. He still insisted and humbled the man. He behaved as an Oversea trained officer. If majority of our Policemen will be like this Office, Police will truly be our friend.

Hmm un examined government is not worth being a government,a government where the poor suffer the most, talking with a calm voice because na SA

U r wrong my sister. He was not talking to the man in low or soft voice because he is a Politician's S/A. I beliv the officer is a well trained. I have seen many officers like dat. If he was intimidated, once he noticed the official Plate Number, he would have given the guy a salute and allow him go, If he was intimidated, he wouldn't have insisted seeing the booth after his Oga ordered him not to search the booth.

When precisely Nigeria will get out of this mess? There is far different between poor and the rich oo. Common people can't never have the gut to challenge the policemen the way this man did without have his face blocked with slapped. May God bless the poor in Nigeria! Ameen.

I'm quite certain he behaved that way because he is the one recording the video. If there were no video recording, no Nigerian police will behave that way sir.

Even at that, he is a very intelligent Police Officer. He walked the foolish PA into a trap. With that video, he can defeat the PA and even sack that his oga that called him on phone.
