The conventional educational system belief the reason we should attend school is to learn and get certificate, so as to get a nice job. Whether this is what education is meant for is a subject of debate worldwide. But what other good reason should make you attend school? The answer is: To get more connections.
By connection, I mean human relationship; friends, course mates and neighbours. Building great connections might help you in getting a job or even in building your own business, either by getting a co-founder or raising funds, if you wish to trend the entrepreneurial part.
I will bet you’ve heard lots of story of people who got employed by leveraging their connections.
Here are some examples of people who have also built a business empire and generated lots of wealth by leveraging some connections they got in school.
1. Reid Hoffman: Reid is the founder of the popular network: LinkedIn. He is considered the most connected man in Silicon Valley. Reid built his business with friends he made during his school days.
2. Mark Zuckerberg: The young Facebook CEO also built his popular social media network by leveraging the network of friends and like minds who he met from school.

4. Opeyemi Awoyemi and his co-founders: founders of the popular job searching website, Jobberman. They started this business as students of Obafemi Awolowo University.
I don’t want to make this a boring list. These are few of the people and company that were made possible as a result of leveraging connections that were built in school.
So, start building connections with great minds, you don’t know where this might lead you. As Steve Jobs said ‘you can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward’.
