How Do I Start Snail Rearing?
I would like to have more information about snail, what it fully entails, how to start the business and what the market is like. Would a capital of about N50,000 - N80,000 be enough to start, cover initial cost and how much profit can I still make at the end of the day?
Am female, a fresh graduate, I reside in Lagos and would love to get in touch with someone who is in the business. I'll be very grateful and appreciate whatever information and links i can get, thanks very much

@brendaduta,to venture in this business you have to be patient, with 80,000 the capital you have is enuff to start you well on a small scale, with what you have you can start of with 300 point of lay snails, this i advice you to start as the raining season begins within 4 to 5 months you should have btw 2500 to 3500 hatchlings or even more depending on breed of the snail. Now one thing you will need is space because overcrowding can afect their growth. As for the feeding i can gie you a formula you can get rom most feed mills. You should also know that it takes about one and a half to two years for them to develope to full grown depending on care and management. With proper management and care they can acheive that in a shorter time.A full grown snail depending on the time ofthe year can cost btw N150 to N250.The most common one around to breed is the acharchtina marginata, this is the common one in the market.or if you want sumthing prolific you can go for the archatina fulica they grow fast and are the most adaptable followed by the marginata, then the least is the archatina archatina.I will post you a sum pix of my snailery.

a good idea to start a snail farm but you need to be careful how you go about it one thing for sure is you have to avoid ants or termites getting close to the farm also salt as well and they rightly said be careful of space dont allow the large snails to be close to the small ones if not youre in for it.

yeah that is true, depending on the type of housing system you intend to use,you need a form of protective mechanism to ward off termites, soldeir ants, rats and other types of pest.If it is a concrete pen you need to have like a gutter round it with water in it and the cover has to have wire mesh and mosquito net also, make sure no salt comes near the snailery or even mix with their food. When the baby snails hatch from their eggs you move them to a seperate pen. Each pen wether the ones with the big ones or small snails you should have loamy soil in it about 6 inch in dept and should be covered with either dry banana leaves(plenty) or cocoa leaves, because snails like dark and cool places. This are pix of part of my snailery.

I need help on a new agribusiness which I intend on starting soon. The agribusiness is a poultry business.
I want to know about the ingredients used to produce chicken feed. Can someone please list the ingredients and how they are mixed together, and in what proportions are they mixed together. I intend to rear broiler chicks for the purpose of chicken meat production.
Someone please reply my post or alternatively, you can email me on: email@example.com.

I don't know anything about this topic but I was intrigued enough to do some research.
You may wish to contact the IDRC. They sponsored a snail rearing project (Project Number 920034),in Nigeria back in '93 and may still have rollover development funds .(http://www.idrc.ca/en/ev-83060-201_920034-1-IDRC_ADM_INFO.html)
Here is also a link to a document (http://www.rirdc.gov.au/reports/NAP/03-137.pdf), developed by Sonya Begg who seems to be a leading expert in international snail farming circles based on the frequency of her name on snail farming documents. There appears to be quite useful information contained therein.
In case you can't access the doc, I'm posting her contact information as shown in the doc, (Australia), below:
