Ayodele Fayose Promotes 9,583 Workers by nativeSON12345: 8:06pm On Jul 16
The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday said that it had just promoted 9,583 out of its public servants.

From the figure, 6,993 of them are teaching and non-teaching staff of various public secondary schools, while 2,590 are local government staff.

Chief Abiodun Falayi, the Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, said in a statement that 3,963 teachers and 1,586 non-teaching staff were promoted.

Falayi noted that the Fayose-led administration inherited what he called abnormalities in cadres, unharmonized structure as well as inaccurate nominal roll and seniority list.

He said that all complaints lodged by affected workers were considered and rectified in the course of the exercise.

He said that all issues relating to adjustment of inter-cadre transfer and conversion had also been settled.

According him, the interview process was decentralized into six zones for administrative convenience and to ensure that it did not unduly interfere with academic activities in schools where they were conducted.

He said that the promotion was conducted to motivate workers as well as engender efficiency and effectiveness within the public service.

He, therefore, charged the workers to reciprocate government’s gesture by living up to their responsibilities.

They should also support the state government’s efforts to improve the public service, stressing that they should make diligence and dedication to duty their watchwords.

After promotion, what next? Their taxes keep rising with them. Liabilities keep gripping their neck like there's no tomorrow, as they rise in promotion, they discover that it's even getting tougher, not easier. I have been there.. It's called modern sslavery.

If Fayose promoted 9,583 workers, just how many can there be on the state government's payroll? Why does a small, poor state like Ekiti need even 9,583 workers in total, let alone 2 or 3 times that number?

With all these employees soaking up government revenues, and the inevitable theft that accompanies all Nigerian politics, it's no wonder Fayose has no development to show, and prefers stopping at bukas, handing out rice, and running his mouth off at Buhari: there's no money left over for him to do anything meaningful in his own backyard.

Stop your mediocrity, what is the essence of this promotion when he's yet to pay their last 4 months salary.

No need to derail the thread. The thread is about promotion without pay. For now it is still all about head without cap.
